We've had previous about how decent Alario would be. I'm all in on the Brandt. Hell I don't care if CE leaves or not i prefer Brandt, a more rounded player and MFer and probably better for an team overhaul/newer younger direction. ***oh god, here come the torches and pitchforks for touching another sacred cow***

but unfortunately that game flip-flopped Leverkusen and Frankfurt for the CL-qualification place. They could perhaps still not qualify in the summer but it is unlikely anyone will leave this summer, save for Alario whose minutes are being gobbled up by Volland.
This exactly.

Team needs to evolve which is a total fucking cliche (but it has to happen)

Eriksen - £75m

Janssen - £10m

Nkoudou - £5m

Onomah - £2m

Less than £30m net spend with some decent wages off the wage budget.

I know it’s unlikely that we get close to even some of that, but there’s no reason why we can’t compete for all those players.

We need to be brave.

Are you crazy? Did you not read my warning about the torches and pitchforks? Even agreeing with the sentiment will put you on the list. I suggest a quick delete on your part.:)

but seriously it's good to see someone else is looking to evolve in here. We got kinda found out this year with our thin squad of specialists. Be good to have some all-rounders and Brandt can handle either wing as well.

Seriously we cannot screw this window. Surely even the levy supporters can't defend a bad window this time round

One player who is really starting to excel who we have been linked to in the past is Ayoze Perez.

Previously he has had all the running but lacked the ability to finish his chances regularly. Seems to have added that to his game.

I think he would be a fantastic back up option

He's quality and a hard little worker as well. I'd love us to sign him.

Perez, Grealish, Dacoure and a top class RB, and I'd be over the moon.

I want to see players that offer more on the ball but also off of it moving forward.

As for the pitchforks and whatnot, it's fine, I'm hardly flavour of the month most of the time! Bring it!!!

:)

They have the same points with 2 games to go. Frankfurt has a better GD
Not really over

Other than Ndombele, it looks sensible.

I need to point out though, that the real world doesn't work like that. There's a lot of money in agent fees and taxes. So it not 30m net spend

There is really now no excuse for not going out and having a decent net spend. I believe it was something like 80-90 mill that Spurs made from this CL semi final run and now that CL is almost certainly guaranteed for next year, the money should be there, even with the stadium. Three straight windows of no spending as well. ITK has said the money was supposedly there last year, so again no excuse to not have a significant net spend that gets Poch players he wants.
Don’t we still have to sell first?

I agree but we should even be able to hit £50m net spend with no signings in the last 18 months and the champions league revenue.

If the reports on Brandt's release clause are true, it won't matter if they qualify for the CL, it will be bigger fish that are the problem.

You are correct but Frankfurt also have Mainz and Bayern (at the Allianz but the league should be wrapped up by then) whereas BL have Schalke and Hertha to go. I was just doing the expected math(s). And with the way BL scored they could wipe that 5 goal margin in one game against the now safe but still crap Schalke. All still to play for I guess.

I know it’s a small sample size but having seen Brighton against us and the Scum today I’ve been really impressed with their Centre Backs. If we lose Toby I think we could do a lot worse than Dunk.

I like the fact he seems a bit of an old school defender who thinks defending first. Our defence has been getting more vulnerable over the last two years, although we’ve also been scoring less comparatively, which explains our struggles recently.

They perform well in a back line that sits in their own box for 80 minutes. Dunk and Duffy are both similar players to Fazio, and look at how well he performed in a high line, compared to how well he played at Sevilla/is playing at Roma, in much deeper defensive systems.

Could Dunk adjust his game? It's possible, but I don't think he has the pace to succeed in our system. My opinion though.
