Out if curiosity where do the people wanting grealish see him playing for us? I don’t believe he’s ever played in a cm 2, he’s normally either a no 10 or played in a cm3 with less attack minded players than himself, where does he fit in with Alli? He’s not gonna fulfill the role dembele did for us

All credit to Bayern for spotting Davies and taking a chance on him. He's the type of player Spurs should have gone after: fast, tricky left-footed WF.
And credit to @George94 for "spotting" him back in March 2018 (he mentioned him on the Summer transfer wish list)
Davies really looked great for Vancouver. I don’t know that I’ve seen too many other players completely boss a senior game at his age. I’m not convinced he’s a winger, but he is a talent. The MLS is starting to produce these kinds of players on a more regular basis these days.

Probably closest in style to Eriksen in that free role. I’d see him as either rotation with or replacement for Eriksen.

According to The Sun, Tottenham are among the clubs who will send scouts to watch Bolton Wanderers' 17-year-old midfielder Luca Cornell in action this weekend at Derby County.

Any of those who follow youth football know anything about this lad?

David Neres probably is available. Should we take a look if either Moura or Lamela is sold? I read somewhere that he is open to come to EPL.

Gomes is a good player, but he's shocking defensively, and as such I don't think he'd be the best partner for Winks. Anything we do in CM has to be about who we play alongside Winks as one of the biggest considerations.

You haven't watched him much then, he is a tenacious player and gets a lot of tackles and interceptions. He also has a good range of passing going forward. Reminds me a bit of Mendes.

Luca Connell (left footed LB/LMF) - and not Luca CoRnell  - has been linked with Spurs before.
He may be one of those players Spurs will be linked to until he retires...

I have no idea what the lad is called. I just pasted what I got in a transfer notification.

Neres or Bailey are the kinds of player Spurs should go for this summer.
I would consider selling Lamela, simply because of poor injury record. Moura I would give another season to prove himself.

I've also started thinking like this recently and I'm gutted about it.

I flipping love the lad, his spirit & his love for the club. However, as much as it saddens me, we're getting nothing out of him and really can't depend upon him when we need him.

Saw an interesting post this morning that shows the entire Ajax starting 11 that played against Juventus last night cost a measly €55 Million.

Just goes to show you do not need to spend a fortune to compete at a top level, it can be done with good scouting and development from the academy.

I know Ajax plays in a much weaker league than us but their CL run this season has been incredible and they could go all the way to the final if they keep up their form and see off Juventus next week.

Can you imagine if Ajax or us were to win the Champions League? If we both get through our quarter finals then one of us is going to the final. It would confuse the life out of the money teams like Man city, PSG and United.

I'm annoyed I can't remember the exact stat. Jonathan Wilson on the football weekly podcast was talking about how the premiership has completely changed since it started.

Back then the possession stats were relatively equal. Now you have the top teams often getting huge amounts of the ball and just completely dominating.

This means that you get really good players in lower prem teams who just never even get a chance to do any thing. The point being for instance with Ryan Sessegnon, that fulham, team was so bad he was just getting swamped. If you put him in a top 6 team he would look completely different.

I think he said that in the first year of the premier League there were only six games where a team had seventy percent possession. Last season there were sixty four games like that. As you said it means that players at the weaker clubs have far less opportunity to play with the ball and show what they can do. He also said it means that the defenders at the top teams have far less actual defending to do. The same applies for goalkeepers I guess. Maybe that explains why there are more mistakes in big games?

David Neres probably is available. Should we take a look if either Moura or Lamela is sold? I read somewhere that he is open to come to EPL.

One of the papers mentioned something like a £30m release clause. I imagine he'd be one of our top targets of that were true.

Would be a victory for football & doing things the right way.

Pretty sure mitrovic got sacked off by Benitez cos of lack of effort in training, that ain’t gonna fly with Poch either

Agreed. Mitrovic is a big fella, but he also has some flab around his middle, which may be explained by lack of effort in training. Lose that and he would probably gain a yard or two of pace - decent player, though.
