Hey everyone, new here, so excuse any newbie mistakes.

The way I see it, Poch might end up relying on Davy+Jan as a main partnership, with Foyth having a few peep ins at times. When we go back 3, it'll be Dier who's pushed into the backline. Which means the most likely upgrade is at CM/CDM. Now while N'Dombele is ideal, it's unlikely to materialise. Jack Grealish, as I understand it, has excelled in the deeper-ish role and is a possible option. However, the new 5 year deal he signed in December might put him out of our price range. I'm not sure who else the club can target in this position though, other than maybe Rabiot, who'd probably pick another club clamouring for him.

RB is another position in needed of an upgrade. Trippier, however, seems to be Poch's pet. So I doubt we'll deliberately put him out on the shop window. And considering the season he's had, not a lot of top clubs will come for him. Max Aarons has been touted as a possibility, but I'm not entirely sure how serious that is. EDIT: Wan-Bissaka would be a good move, but a typical Spursy one.

IMO, rather than a Kane backup, we need an ERIKSEN backup. The Dane's ability to pick out his teammates is something we sorely lack when he's out of form or not playing. A long-talked about move for Bruno Fernandes is possible, but they'll ask for big money. And we know how Levy is with big money.

I do hope a Sessegnon move materialises, but not at the cost of other positions. Rose isn't retiring anytime soon. (Or is he? xD)

For all the talk of showing 'ambition', I sincerely don't see an ambitious signing coming our way anytime soon.

Dier has been a very good signing and I'm valuing him more seeing our results without him this season.
In my opinion he would not have improved results as when he played, goals conceded were at times were as a result him making mistakes in the midfield. Although not quite Trippiersque, but close on occasions. I see where you and others would retain him but I really believe he has regressed as a player and would he would be one of my choices to be replaced

Probably a pretty unpopular opinion , however I’d genuinely take Rondon as a cheap back up to Kane to replace Llorente I’ve been really impressed with him this season.

Tieliemans has also been highly impressive for Leicester on loan, he’s done a lot better than expected.

Report this morning Ndombele isn't convinced ManU is a step up for him... although if ManU do lose Pogba I'm not necessarily sure from a footballing perspective it is. Obviously from a financial decision it clearly is.

Tielemans scored today - that’s four assists and two goals in his last five games.

I was very wrong about him needing time after Monaco. He’s been sensational.

I really think Rondon is a player who needs confidence and lots of games. I don’t think he’d be a good backup to Kane, getting games here and there.

I agree Dier's been badly off the pace this year but I wouldn't want to sell him. IMO he needs to move back to CB for a while and concentrate on doing the basics (i.e.cut out the silly mistakes). He seems to be suffering the same World Cup hangover as Trippier.

Has Dier ever fully recovered from the appendectomy in December? He never really had time to build up fitness before he was injured again while on England duty...

I think its a bit harsh to judge his year - given the flukish injuries/illness.

Another reason why I'd keep him. I don't think he was playing very well before his appendix and subsequent injury though.

Over the past three seasons he's scored 14 goals less than Son and provided as near as dammit equally as many assists. Playing for Crystal Palace, who don't exactly create a stream of chances every week.

That's if the site I looked at is to be believed :D

a bit easier to score and create assist when your not facing 2 banks of 5. would earn us plenty of free kicks in the middle of the park, but then the ball ends up back with Lloris because we don't put free kicks into the area unless they are on the edge:cautious:

Havertz with 2 goals at half time v The Energy Drink team. He looks some player. So composed at his age.
I watched the entirety of the second half so small sample size I know. Havertz looked like a huge prospect but definitely someone who was still 19 where it was very hit or miss, which of course is understandable due to his age. Brandt looked awesome though.

We get a proper replacement for Wanyama, unless Dier turns it around. Sissoko is not a DM.

He is not playing as one usually it’s only because diet and winks are injured and you could argue Ali played deeper than sissoko vs palace

Well yes, but you were the one who said "what about when we need to win back the ball?"

I would go for something like this (although ideally I'd find a way to get better Fullbacks too):

In:

Nabil Fekir - £60m
Ndombele - £60m
Ryan Sessegnon - £30m
Pope or Bettinelli as 2nd/3rd choice HG keeper - £10m
Joachim Andersen - £20m
Kruse - £0

Total: £180m

Out:

Vorm - £0
Llorente - £0
NKoudou - £5m
Wanyama - £5m
Aurier - £20m
Lamela - £25m
Toby - £25m
Eriksen - £70m

Total: £150m

This would leave a squad of:

Goalkeepers: 3 - 1HG

Lloris, Gazza, Pope/Bettinelli

Fullbacks: 4 - 3HG

Trippier, KWP, Rose, Davies

Central Defenders: 4

Jan, Sanchez, Foyth, Andersen

Central Midfielders: 4 - 1HG

Winks, Sissoko, Dier, NDombele

Attacking Mids: 5 - 2HG

Dele, Fekir, Son, Lucas, Sessegnon

Strikers: 2 - 1HG

Kane, Kruse

Squad size of 22 and leaves space to register Onomah for some more depth and possibly CCV and Edwards plus any potential January signings.

Havertz, Brandt, Diawara, Wan-Bissaka & Andersen for me is heavyweight material.

4 of those 5 and I'll be doing cartwheels
