Besides, Swansea will be hurting from the 3-0 loss to Newcastle.
I am sure they will want to respond and without Vardy for Leicester, who knows?

It's still a tall order, it's still 5 points and points on the board is still better than chasing.
But, we have reason to hope and at this stage of the season, that is something to be very proud of. I for one have never loved a spurs team as much as this one. Even when we won the League Cup, or were in the CL with Bale and Vdv... THere is nothing about this team I dislike.

I say this as someone who was very against keeping players like Dembele and Rose and I eat my humble pie with fervour. Well done those two, well done Poch and well done Levy. I have my spurs back and whatever happens between now and the final day, I can at least look back at this season and this team with immense pride and hope for the future.

The nightmare scenario: Leicester implode, Arsenal close the gap, and we have to win away at Newcastle. Up steps a scorned Townsend and the whole thing goes tits up. No idea whether it's mathematically possible, but as nightmare scenarios go it's a doozy.

townsend for the newcastle owngoal to win us the title. spurs legend

Strange thing is, I really wouldn't be all that upset if Leicester hold on to win it. It's an amazing story. Still want us to win it, but there are worse ways to lose out...and worse teams to lose out to.

This.

If Utd can wobble and lose out then so can Leicester. Also Barca have lost their last 4 games or something bizarre, all we can do is play like we have been and win our remaining games. Ideal scenario would be to win the thing at home to Saints with a game to spare but its a long shot.

Apart from Saturday's heavy defeat by Newcastle, Swansea haven't been too bad during March and April. 4 wins, 2 defeats and 1 draw from 7 games - the other loss coming against Bournemouth and the wins against Arsenal, Norwich, Aston Villa and Chelsea. They drew with Stoke. Their last game of February was against ourselves and although we dominated and eventually won we had to work hard for the points and come from behind.

Still a slim possibility Swansea could go down. They have an awful run in, Leicester, West Ham, Liverpool and City.

If Sunderland win the game in hand, they would be 7 behind whilst Norwich would be 9 behind. Pretty long shot but if I were Swansea you'd be wanting that extra point or 3 to make sure you're safe! Plus they could jump to mid table, thats a big incentive for some decent prize money.
They will want to seal the deal against leicester. I think they'll get something.

So in my mind we need only one more win and a draw to finish above Arsenal is that right ? Presuming our GD stands up.

I know it's been mentioned on here, but Sky scheduling us to play catch up to Leicester in 4 consecutive matches in the title run becomes more ridiculous the more I think about it. Whatever people say, points on the board are always more important than hypothetical points gained, so Leicester will always be at an advantage with such a big lead.
Can you imagine Sky doing this to Fergie's Man U or Mourinho's Chelsea? They would have been apoplectic.
In their post match interviews last night you could tell that Poch and Kane are not happy about playing catch up.
If sky had switched so that both teams had a chance of playing 2nd then we would have had the chance of going only 2 points behind Leicester before their game v Swansea if we were to beat wba.
That would have been a huge psychological blow considering they have been 10 points ahead only a couple of games ago and would have put them under massive pressure.
Credit to our players that we have, so far, coped brilliantly with the pressure of playing 2nd but if we do somehow manage to win the title it will be no thanks to Sky.

Still waiting for Leicester to lose a game though aren't we? That's why I'm still reeling from that stupid last minute peno against West ham.

They need to lose a game. It doesn't happen a lot. If we accept they're not gonna draw more than two of they're last four games then someone has to beat them.

I see Utd as the only team capable of it to be honest. Chelsea WILL roll over.

I see Chelsea and Utd beating them and us not losing at Chelsea with us winning on the last day.

Cool.
Who are Arsenal?

With my absolutely superior ( :cautious: ) ability to instinctively assess probabilities in %, I'd guesstimate a 25%-35% chance of us winning the title at this point. I'd have taken that at the start of the season, and I hope there is only a matter of time before there is a true 50/50 chance.

I just can't see CHelsea putting a big performance and effort in against Leicester.
I can see them doing this against us though....

Arsenal have 60 points with 5 games to play. Their run in is easy, apart from away to Man C. They are not playing well, so you could be right, but they will really be trying to still finish above us so I wouldn't count on them losing that game. I think they could end up with 75 points, so I think we need to win 2 and draw 1 to guarantee finishing above them.

In the same vein, we are on 68 and are looking like we will beat our highest points total in the premiership. In 1984/5 we won 23 and drew 8 which would be 77 points. We can beat that total and get 80 points if we win all of our games. I think that will win the title as I think Leicester will drop more points yet and after last night's game we can all see that the players are all up for the challenge.

COYS!

For the first time since before WestHam, I am actually starting to believe.
I initially thought the gap was too big, but now looking again at the fixtures, I see a little hope.
I think if Leicester drop a loss during the next two games, (without Vardy helps), then so long as we grab two wins, I think it'll come down to the last game.
Leicester away to Chelsea
Spurs away to Newcastle
2 point margin, with us having the vastly superior goal difference. A win for us, and anything other than a win for Leicester would see us do it.

I genuinely think we have it in is to rattle off four wins after last night. Do Leicester have more than two in them??
