FT: Liverpool 7-0 Man Utd

Liverpool had eight shots on target and scored seven goals.

(Man UTD need a conte type manager)
Said at time it felt like our 7 -2 v Bayern, everything just seemed to go in for them. Was a bit of freak result.

As yesterday as shown. Hopefully Real knock any little bit of hope they have before city, Chelsea and Arsenal next. We have some opportunity to cement 4th over next 5 games.

I know it’s a footballing cliché but those teams in the bottom half on the table will be fighting for survival- there’s a lot at stake and wanting to remain in the PL is paramount- it will bring a few upsets I’m sure
Should suit us down to the ground that they come at us. Our front 3 looked sharper yesterday. If they have got their act together we can put them away.

Agree but wouldn't mind them taking something from Woolwich in all honesty.

I was a bit concerned yesterday that we again almost threw a 3.0 lead in just 10mins.
They scored one, Forster made a great save, and they fluffed a penalty. On another day thats 3 goals.
Need to defend better than that. We took our foot off the pedal again before the final whistle. Got to stop doing that.

We could have done with the cleanie for the confidence boost and for the extra GD as well.

The only thing I'm thinking about next week is no stupid free kicks from the middle 20-25 yards out. Which is something I feel we've done a lot v Saints recently.

I've never known any other team to be so vulnerable at 3-0 up. We know from long experiences if it goes 3-1 we go into meltdown

To be clear, I only consider it doable on the basis LFC and NUFC are not good enough to win 9 more games this season. As mentioned, Newcastle have won that amount in 24 games.

Such is the madness of our club, the joke is that we have proven over a number of recent seasons, we actually have the balls to get top4 over the line and put together a somewhat strong finish to the end of campaigns (perhaps coinciding with spectacular implosions in cup competitions around this time).

It's honestly mad when you sit back and think about it. Given how bad we have apparently been on and off the pitch, we are still 4th and could still get 3rd.

Utd down to 10men after half an hour :woot:

Don’t think we’ll catch them but don’t want them get confidence and start looking appealing to Harry

Well, we do have two of the finest goal scorers the top flight has ever seen, working in tandem, does that have any bearing?

You mean Son who has barely scored and been so poor all season many fans have said to get rid in the summer? I'd say if he was firing like last season we'd be even better off.

Win next weekend and we'll spend the international break in 3rd.

I do think Southampton will target it as one they can get the points in though.

Yet we could have score 5 more…. We missed huge chances.
