i’m actually quite critical of some of the things Poch has said - but this time he’s spot on. i see it as him saying it doesn’t matter what i say, the press don’t listen and write what they want anyway.

it’s hilarious how the press have reacted - they’ve shite themselves. they literally don’t know what to do with his quotes because they don’t know if he’s serious.

they have direct quotes from him about leaving, yet they’re getting a lot less press coverage than his denials/refusal to answer during the Man Utd shit storm. quite brilliant.

There’s bigger news about but don’t worry, they’ll be storing them up for future use to throw at either him, the players, the club or Levy. They won’t forget.

I just don't understand why there always must be a battle between either blaming Levy or Pochettino, when both must have contributed to only weakening the squad.

Exactly. That was the point I was hoping to get across (no idea if I did?).

As you say, both would've contributed in some capacity. I was more responding to the implication that Poch wouldn't have known the alternative targets to his main choices.

We can only hope that Levy & Poch are aligned in their thinking as to how this next step takes place. Poch has always told us that he & Daniel have a great understanding and share the vision that they've been working towards. I guess we'll soon find out if it's true.

Stadium is finished, Levy is out of places to hide & reasons (or excuses, depending on your view) for lack of on field investment.

He seems to come out with things like this every season, always seems to be with an ulterior motive. In this case: give me a large budget otherwise I've taken Tottenham as far as I can.

That's my take on it anyway. Mind you, even if he did decide he wanted to go doesn't mean levy would allow him to leave. He blocked move to real last summer after all.

I personally don't see it that way, i tend to lean towards he is seeking acknowledgement and praise for the job he has and is doing.
Alot of his comments are tongue and cheek but also lays a message .
The ''i will leave if we win the CL'' i think is a reference to what Levy asked from him 5 years ago , and that was to close the gap on the top 4 as we move into our new stadium, too actually win the CL in that time frame Poch is saying he may as well go as there is nothing left to top that.
That doesn't read to me that he would really walk, just Poch seeking acknowledgement as to what an achievement and how way above expectations that would be.

POCH: I WILL DISCUSS MY FUTURE AFTER CL FINAL

Mauricio Pochettino indicated he might leave Tottenham should the club win the Champions League prior to their victory against Ajax and it would appear as if that is a very serious probability.
“After five years I think it is a moment to close a chapter. It’s not going to be the same in July when we start pre-season,” the Spurs boss, who has two years left on his contract, said when asked whether reaching the final justifies him staying.
“It’s so important to have clear ideas of the project and the challenge we are going to have ahead. It was very clear five years ago that the priority was going to be until the stadium was finished.
“We feel so proud because our capacity to manage this situation, that was very difficult, is amazing.
“But what is next? That is the question. It’s difficult for me to explain.
“I need to listen to Daniel [Levy] – he is the boss. Our ambition brought us to play a final in the Champions League when no-one believed. But today that is the reality. Now is a moment to enjoy.

“The final is going to be an amazing moment for all the people. After the final is going to be a time to talk a lot, and listen to what is next.”

Back me or I'll walk, this really could not be any clearer unless he said those exact words

I really do think he feels like he's hit the ceiling with Spurs and unless he receives substantial guarantees from Levy on changing the club's philosophy to compete with Liverpool in terms of financial outlay then he will leave.

I also think Tuchel will leave PSG this summer and if Pochettino is not happy with what Levy has to say, will ask to join PSG.

I will be absolutely gutted if this happens as I really think any replacement will be a step backwards (unless we are incredibly lucky) but cannot begrudge a guy who on a shoestring has worked footballing miracles and given us the best 5 years of consistent footballing magic I've witnessed as a Spurs fan.

I take it as he wants to believe that Levy and the board are genuinely targeting being one of the biggest clubs in the world and challenging for the main honours every year rather than just being happy with finishing top 4 and the odd cup / European run. I like his way of thinking as long as he gets the answer that he wants.

Looks to me like he is happy here and might sign a new five year contract for his next project with us. (Whatever that project may be).

No one can tell me that this isn't an extremely direct message to Levy to get his wallet out or lose the best manager and team we've had in recent years.

I agree with Poch.

This current group of players have hit their ceiling (UCL final) and as such this has probably exceeded expectations from his 5 year project.

Therefore, in order for us to push on we need to invest in the squad to start a new project. Or there’s no point in him staying as he would have taken us as far as he can.

Back the ****ing manager Levy.

The fact that he has to keep making these little allusions to potentially leaving in such a crucial period is a bit annoying. Not that I blame him one bit, but he's obviously prepared for the fact that his boss doesn't share his vision for the 'next chapter'.

Bit worrying tbh.

I am a huge Pochettino fan and very supportive of what Levy has done for this club. I imagine the lack of transfers has been a combination of Levy not being able to secure Poch's preferred choices and Poch not being willing to settle for players he didn't feel would improve his squad or players who wouldn't fit the philosophy. I have no problem with our not signing players in recent windows if this was a calculated gamble. But now we have top 4, the best stadium and training facilites in the world and massive positive exposure because of the CL final. Now Levy has to sell Pochettino on a vision for the next project, the next 5 years. Just as we are now in a fantastic position to get top dollar for the stadium naming deal and other commercial deals and revenue, we will never have a better opportunity to buy than this summer. If the lack of spending in recent windows means more money available this summer, than I can only look back on it as a brilliant if very very lucky move. Pochettino will stay if he and Levy agree on how to move forward, and it is up to Levy to now take this club to the next level and make some astute signings. We know that they will be targeting young talent and I have no urge that they go out and spend 80 million on an established star. We now know that De Jong was seriously considering us, and this is the type of player we need. The club needs a huge summer and there will be no excuses this time around
