I wouldn't mind United winning. Makes it harder for city to finish above is and any chance of Liverpool not making champions league would be hilarious...

I think exactly the same. To add to that Arsenal arent far from catching the lot of them and it would be catastrophic for the arse to get top 4

I agree but for me the funniest scenario of all would be United stretching their unbeaten run until they play us, which would make it the seventh longest unbeaten run in English top flight history (no joke!) ....

And still finishing 5th.

Got a feeling United will win. This will throw 3rd and 4th wide open.

This definitely put huge pressure on city, pool, united and scums. I reckon ManU will drop out of top 4 and win the Europa... 4th is definitely in danger of being push out of CL.

Think 4th qualifies for CL regardless what United do in Europa. Where it gets messy is if United win Europa and finish 4th. Think it's only 4 teams in CL then

Yep, if United finish 4th it won't change anything if they win the EL. It's a maximum of 5 teams from the same league.

So a quick update after the Manchester bore draw:

Given our ridiculous goal difference, two more wins guarantees at least 2nd.

Beat Arsenal and we definitely finish above them.

Even if we lose to Arsenal and/or West Ham, a win against United guarantees top 4. A point against United means we'd just need to win any one of our other remaining 4 games (I'm including Arsenal and Spam) to guarantee top 4.

With Arsenal and United having to play each other, two more points guarantees we finish above at least one of them.

Four more points will complete the formality of finishing above Liverpool.

All of the above (with the exception of Arsenal playing United) is based on the unlikely assumption that those teams all win their other games.

Oh and one last stat, five more points from a possible fifteen guarantees automatic CL group stage qualification. We could draw all of our remaining games and still finish no lower than third.

It's all well and good thinking about Arsenal, City and United, but aren't you forgetting somebody? A certain London team? Obviously I mean West Ham. I don't know if you've checked the table recently, but they've been picking up a few points recently and there's now the faint possibility that we might not finish with double the number of points as them. Can you imagine the humiliation if that were to happen?

I'll go on record to say that that will be one of our easiest games this season, our hardest game remains the Leicester match IMO

I wasn't being serious. I'd quite happily settle for finishing over 35 points ahead of them even if it isn't double their total.
I agree that it should be one of the easier games, but you can never tell with them. A Friday night game in their biggest game of the season could still be a test.
Leicester away and Man Utd at home are the two that I'm most worried about. We've struggled to beat Leicester recently and they've obviously picked up form since Ranieri left. We should have enough to beat United, but it's our last game at WHL and Jose will want to set his team up to try and contain us.

That United game is gonna be tough.
Tony pulis will Park the bus and look to get a cheap goal from a set play

Banking on Jose having a say in that, if we can go above Chelsea you just know that he'd want to get one over his former team so I expect them to relax a bit when they play us :D

Had West Ham been at Upton Park I'd be nervous. But it's not. There won't be much atmosphere compared to the old ground. We'll control the ball and dilute any home support.

for the first time this really will be a cup final for both teams. as it's like both teams are playing at a neutral ground!

Two down, four to go.

Thanks to us continuing to win, and the teams around us being shit, we've pretty much got automatic CL qualification in the bag. In fact if Liverpool, United, and City each fail to win a single remaining game, we don't even need to turn up for our last four matches and would still be second.

Barring some miraculous turn around in goal difference we've guaranteed a top four finish with 12 points still to play for. Thinking back to how happy we all were when we beat City to get 4th place, that's seriously impressive.

One point will be enough for a top 2 finish. Two more points would officially confirm it (with GD no longer being an issue...not that it is an issue for us!).

As for the title, it's probably beyond us now but not impossible. With home games against Boro and Sunderland the Chavs would have to seriously mess up not to take 6 points. At least Boro still have something to play for. West Brom away could be a potential banana skin. It's never an easy place to play, and remember we don't need the chavs to lose...just draw. Hopefully West Brom aren't already on the beach. Watford could also do enough for a point if they bother to turn up.

It's all highly unlikely, but we've all seen teams hammer the opposition with wave after wave of attacks, only to find it impossible to score.

Beat West Ham and we're definitely finishing in the top two, and within one point of Chelsea. Let's put them under pressure.

Let's win every game now so there's no sniff of 'bottling' 'blew it' rhetoric by media or fans. Not that it really matters but don't want anything like that taking shine off what has been a superb league performance.
We're gonna win the league in the next 3 years, I'm becoming more and more certain of that with every passing game. To perform like we did after watching Chelsea win what was one of only slip up games showed the sort of mentality you need to win leagues.
