This team is better than that team for sure, I think they've proved that. But like i said we will see if this time it really is different. We need to finish second and beat Arsenal at the weekend. No excuses

So if we don't finish 2nd it's another false dawn? Come on. This team have improved year on year under Poch. They are only going to get stronger. We'd have won the league twice in a row if it wasn't for Leicester last season or Chelsea winning 13 games on the spin this one.

The first question isn't us on Wednesday, but Chelsea on Tuesday. Whole new momentum shift if they drop points.

I didnt say a false dawn but it will be no different to previous good sides in that we didn't win anything. Leicester and Chelsea won those games because they deserved to, it's not down to just luck. Let's see where we are at the end of this week, hopefully 1st. We have to finish strongly

You aren't understanding what I'm saying here. Just because we don't win anything this season doesn't mean it's the same as before. This team is nothing like before. And they have an average age of what, 24? Most of our players aren't even at their peak, our 2 main men are 21 and 23. Have a bit of patients. Our time is coming. If you can't wait for success just that little bit longer, to come after 30+ years of waiting for it, I suggest you go and support Real Madrid instead.

I'm very happy with how things are at the moment at Spurs - certainly the best they've been in my 20+ years watching us - but we finished 3rd last season, so it wasn't just Leicester preventing us from winning the league.

So while I am indeed very happy with the state of THFC at the moment, let's not get ahead of ourselves. As much as it hurts (and it hurts like a complete motherfucker), Arsenal were better than us last season as well as Leicester, and I'll flat-out disagree with anyone who thinks otherwise, as IMO league position trumps all other arguments.

Happily, we seem to be moving in the right direction and hopefully next season (or even this one, if the Fates are kind for once) we might genuinely be able to say that we're the best side in the country. But we can still be very happy with where we are right now whilst recognising that there's still further to go before we can claim to be the best.

We'd have won the league if Leicester weren't there. We crumbled with a few games to go and would have finished above Woolwich if we had gained one more point. We wouldn't have crumbled, in my opinion if we weren't playing every Monday after the fucking fairytale

Looking at the other teams we are competing with I genuinely don't see what they can do to make themselves much better on paper than we are now. Sure they could buy a superstar or two but we already have that. Our back 5 will be the best in the league again next season, I don't see any way any of the top 6 can create a better back line. Our midfield combo will still be up there as best in league. Eriksen, Dele and Kane triangle will once again be amongst best in the league no matter who any of the top teams sign.
Ignoring Wembley on paper looking at each of the starting 11s on first game next season we will definitely be amongst the favourites.

Seriously behave. I've been a season ticket holder for 20 plus years and live a stones throw from the ground, just because I disagree don't wheel out the go and support a big club bollocks.

Im not wheeling anything out. I don't care if you've gone for 20 plus years or that you live a few yards from the ground. That has nothing to do with what I'm saying. My point is that you don't seem to want to wait and have some patients for a bit of success. This team is young, learning and improving year on year.

If you cant understand that then i don't known how to explain it.

We all want to win something but there's only 4 trophies available every season and there are plenty of high quality football teams in our way.

You did wheel it out as an insult. I understand the point that the team is improving and being a spurs fan is one long lesson in patience. The major point is that if we don't win something very soon, the team will be broken up and we will go back to square one again because of our inability to compete with our richer rivals.

Don't need to improve. Team is ready now. If Man Utd had this team no chance they wouldn't have won something this season. Patience is for the past, we are ready now. We must win something next season, because it's getting towards stages of wasting what is a golden era for us player wise.

It wasn't intended as an insult. It was merely to highlight my point that we need to be patient.

Even if we do lose a few players, if we can hold on to Poch for longer, then i believe we will be ok.

That's a club that has a history of winning things though. It's different. We don't have it. Yet. But once we get over that first hurdle I think we will be like a steam train collecting the trophies.

Firstly it's 'patience'.

You are correct that it's hard to win trophies, but I think telling Spurs fans to be patient is quite something when we have not won a major trophy for over a quarter of a century.

I'm 28. A Chelsea fan my age has seen his team win the FA cup 6 times and league 4 times the Europa league once and the Champions league once. An Arsenal fan my age has seen his team win the league 3 times, the FA cup at least four times as well as reaching a CL final. A Liverpool Fan has seen their team win the FA cup multiple times, the CL once, the UEFA cup once, and get to another CL final. A Man City fan has seen their team win the league twice, win the FA cup once. Forget about Utd fans.

Also Blackburn and Leicester have won the league and Wigan and Portsmouth have won the FA cup.

Spurs have won one major trophy in my lifetime the FA cup in 1991.

We are probably the 7th or 8th most successful club in England over the last 25 years, and and I would say we have come up short when it mattered more times that any other club, whenever it has come to the crunch we have always collapsed, it has never been our day, our time, for that reason we the fans are hungry for success now that we finally have a team that is capable.

You can accuse Spurs fans of a lot of things, but lacking patience is not one of them.

You're 28 and you post something like this ... ?

I'm sorry the irony is too strong with this one.

I haven't accused anyone of anything so I don't know where you are getting that from. All I'm asking is why people can't have a little bit more *patience, seeing as we've waited long enough already.

You and I are the same age so we've been through exactly the same as Spurs fans.

I just don't understand how people can say if we don't win something it's the end for another team we're watching grow every season. I understand we are hungry and we want to win something. I was as gutted as the next guy yesterday.

I just don't think it's right to jump on the players backs if we don't win something. It a disappointing but it's not the end of the world like some are making it out to be.
