Think they are now

Hopefully today taken a lot out of them

In an interview I just saw on SSN Sam suggested he might make some changes to freshen things up on Wednesday. Hope he does as it'll disrupt their rhythm somewhat. Last time they pulled out a big weekend win against Chelsea they lost to Southampton in midweek.

Basically means he's gonna play a weakened team but can't openly say that as it's against the rules.

Hopefully he's not playing mind games. The positive for us is that the last time they had a big result (Chelsea away) they lost the next game and allardyce blamed mental fatigue from the Chelsea game

We're in for a very tough game. I'd say it's actually more likely that Chelsea stretch their lead to 6 rather than us cutting it to 2 but you never know.

Big Sam will definitely make wholesale changes.

We've had an extra days recovery and he'll be prioritizing the Burnley game, that I have no doubt.

Do expect him to start Andros though, but I think Cabaye will be rested, maybe Zaha as well.

You are right, but then again at 2-2 yesterday we looked more likely to go on to win and you all know what happened.

The funny thing is, if we were the team sitting 4 points clear right now with their run in. We as Spurs fans would probably be pessimistic about our chances, such is our conditioning from years of failure.

Let's get behind the team and just hope that this time lady fate will smile on us.

I know it's the hope that kills you, but it will keep me cheery for the next couple of days at least.

You're missing the point mate. It's not a weakened team if the changes are made because of fatigue.

Big Sam will know all to well, he could risk losing to us and Burnley if he didn't make changes if there were genuine question marks over fatigue.

They lost midweek after the Chelsea result when he didn't make changes really.

Basically he's learned from that. This will hopefully work in our favour.

I'm glad we have Palace straight after the Chelsea defeat, and not Arsenal. I don't think there's a huge amount of difference in quality between us and the other teams in the top 6. We've had tough games against Liverpool, City, and United, and out scored twice in three games v Chelsea. The main difference is that us and Chelsea have been significantly better at winning consistently against the rest of the league.

Not saying we wouldn't beat Arsenal if they were next up, but I'd prefer a confidence builder against a team we are definitely better than in every way. If we don't beat Palace it's more likely to be down to us not playing as well as we can, rather than being outclassed.

Yes 8 would be enough to finish above Arse! But not city Liverpool and maybe Man U. Everyone keeps saying I am pessimistic or unrealistic. But as you have just shown we only got 8 points last year so to be honest I don't think it is unrealistic to be a little worried about our ability to definitely finish fourth? People can debate it if they wish but I feel we have a tough run in and the games against Arse and united are pivotal.
Look I have been a Spurs supporter since 1970. Yes I want us to beat chelski to the title but I am afraid I tend to be looking at who's chasing us rather than that. Too many years mate too many years.
And for that reason alone that is why I started the conversation about finishing 4th and above Arse would be enough for me this year!! Do I want 2nd. Do I think we can hold onto 3rd come end of the season. I'm am going to say maybe, sorry.

Super winner this post. I share the same thoughts

Oh, but for hindsight, eh! :) I suppose neither of you could have foreseen that Liverpool would lose to Palace at Anfield today - well, apart from the fact that it is exactly the type of match the Mickeys have been routinely losing this season. On the back of that result, Liverpool have four games remaining, so the maximum points they can earn is 12 (and that is assuming they are just inherently going to win all their games - which you keep on doing). They are on 66 points, so the maximum points total they can finish with is 78.

We are on 71 with 6 games remaining. And we have a much, much better goal difference than them so 7 - and not more than 8 - will comfortably be enough to finish above Liverpool. Yeah, I know you said this before the Mickeys had played, but that is pretty much the whole point. This is a club we have been comfortably better than in seven of the last eight seasons, who we are five points ahead of and two games in hand, who we have plus 18 goal difference on, and you persist in believing they are just inherently so much better than us that they are just destined to win all their games and, now, I suppose, we are going to lose four of our last six games (yes, it was three of the last six before today, I know). And these games, there is no reason we shouldn't be considered favourites in all of them...we are 2nd in the league. United and the Goons, we are at home against, they are below us in the league on points and we have a much better goal difference. We are at home, why should we not be considered favourites? If all of these details were reversed you would not hesitate for a second in considering them favourites. Yes, last season, I know - but, face it, even when you said it, you are hypothising that both Liverpool and Citeh are going to win every one of their games and the form team in the league, 2nd in the table, is going to lose at least 3 of their remaining games (when they've lost 3 all season). We will finish in the top four, almost definitely top three, and very likely top two. We are far closer to Chelsea than Liverpool and Citeh are to us.

Palace have all but guaranteed their safety. They're only getting 2 rest days. Come on Spurs, we need this and sod what Chelsea do the day before.

Shelfy!?! Up until this post I thought you had joined the light side. Now you have let the darkness consume you again :(

He's said he's going to make changes and I'm sure he will. It wouldn't make much sense to play the same personnel with possibly a more winnable game at the weekend.

Mate I'm all good I just have this nagging feeling that we could balls this up which is a common theme for us on these situations.
But honestly I'm in the light and loving how far we have come, the only darkness came across me yesterday once I left Wembley as bit fucked off with it happening yet again but hey we are used to it right.:p

I want 3 points on Wednesday to keep us in the hunt for the League (albeit my head says we won't catch Chelsea), but just as much as that I want the 3 points because it would be another step towards the 8 points we need to mathematically guarantee that this is a season that we can look back on and smile.

Those 8 points would make me so happy I can't tell you.

I think its years of getting close and not winning anything. Yes we haven't lost for ages but we need to win something now. We'll see what this team is made of on Wednesday

We know why it is, what we really want to know is...why have you named yourself after our despised rivals home depot :)giggle::giggle::giggle:)?

Regardless of the chav on Tuesday result I fully expect us to beat fat sam's palace.
I genuinely believe we'll be fired up after deserving the win and missing out on a final.
I see Son scoring 2, Kane and Alli hitting the net too.
I see fireworks.

I'm worried. Really worried. Not another end of season capitulation please guys.
