Er... What happened to the Mercedes?? So Slow!
Looks like they found some pace for Lewis, but did not make the same upgrades to Bottas' car.

But, I think they are in trouble for the season. Heard on the broadcast that the crash between Bottas and Russell cost the team about £1.4m - and they have a cap on development costs this season.

I think they were well behind in pre-season, battled to catch-up, but then so did the other teams. So, it feels like they will be playing catch-up all season, with Red Bull making the last move.

The restart was fantastic, glad they didn't finish behind the safety car.

Great race today! Vettel for driver of the day.
Wouldn't go as far as great race. Great last couple of laps. For me the street circuits have to go, they are either boring as fuck or just not worth the danger (there's been a safety car at every race in Baku I believe?)

That is modern day F1 though, rarely do you get amazing races from start to end anymore  You are right about the street circuits, looking at you Monaco!

Hate Monaco. Its awful, always have. Ever since Senna Mansell (was that 1995?). You cant overtake. At all. Anywhere.
The race is about as exiting as an early night with a cup of warm chocolate.

I quite like Baku. That straight causes carnage and overtakes.

Pirelli have, yet again, let themselves down with these tyres. They have been dire for a long time. You cant push them, they dont last, they pop. Just another reason for crap racing.

This is like a few years back when their tyres were shredding at Silverstone
Agree. I was at Woodcote and saw Lewis's tyre explode in the distance. The fact that we were then treated to lap after lap of him carving through the field didn't alter the fact that Pirelli proved that they weren't up to the job - and I think we're seeing it again.
In my opinion they should be sacked for incompetence, before they kill someone.

Sad thing is that I get a feeling they will have to kill someone before they are dropped.

I'm not really sure how you equate safety cars at Baku with the circuit being too dangerous?
