If only we had an independent office that could investigate and accurately conclude if there is a case to answer, wait...isn't that what the police are there for? Admittedly the police aren't perfect and they can take their sweet time
From what I've seen it's not a legal matter that the police would have to get involved in. It's just embarrassing for Horner & RB but unless there is other more incriminating stuff that hasn't been shown then nothing has been aggressive, nothing has sought to intimidate or abuse his power. Even the images have just been selfies rather than explicit / lewd.

Not a fan of Horner by any means but it doesn't look like a sackable offence beyond bringing the RB name into disrepute

I mean, if the police reached that conclusion, then you really can say the case closed with a greater deal of confidence. But RB invites further scrutiny because we have experienced instances where corporate interests trump all other interests. So, it naturally makes people question. Thing has just been played bad from the start, obviously the media have been up to their usual tricks as well which is another problem in itself.

Unless someone takes it to the police and reports it as a crime they aren't just going to decide to investigate it.

If there is cause then this person should've gone/should go to the police. Not knowing what's gone on, it's possible they did go to the police, who told them they can't help, so they decided to take it to Red Bull - I have no idea and the fact we've got two pages that revolves around the subject is weird.

Still a few hours until final practice, hopefully that'll give us something else to talk about.

So it looks like it might be a more competitive season this year? I'm not a huge F1 fan but I like to see McLaren do well as they are based where I live, and I like to see Williams do well because of....well Nigel Mansell really. I like to see Lewis and Danny Ric do well too. If it's looking more competitive this year I might watch some races.

Oh and I like to see Lance Stroll do badly because he's a dick and its nepotism gone mad, and I like to see Yuki do well because he's funny on Drive to Survive.

I yearn for the Senna/Mansell days sometimes.

Isn't that what they've done though? it wasn't reviewed by the RedBull HR department... to quote their statement "It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made."

Can imagine the police wouldn't be too happy getting pulled into every HR dispute at any big company

The question that raises is why lack of transparency, even to the FIA? Surely the FIA should have full access to it as it is affecting the sport as a whole?

I mean the sport as a whole is a little corrupt...

But, the FIA could have stepped into the investigation and demanded to be kept informed of the allegations, and chose not to - so, absent that, not sure why Red Bull would have volunteered that information.

Also - just based on what little I have seen - nothing really here for the police to investigate.

It ranges from either an illicit affair, or workplace harassment due to the disparate positions - both of which are civil issues, not criminal.

I don't think we will now how competitive it will be until after today - a lot of speculation that Red Bull and maybe Ferrari still had not turned up their engine modes yesterday. If that is true, Red Bulls are probably still 0.4 seconds ahead of the field.

And while that may not seem like much to the casual viewer, 40 laps in, and Red Bulls are 16 seconds ahead of the competition.

First few practice sessions are always impossible to judge as teams have different motivations.

Merc are probably looking to put out a strong front to assure sponsors and the team that they'll be competitive and Hamilton leaving isn't due to having a poor car this year

Fully expecting to see the Red Bulls take pole and comfortably win the race but we can hope there's some excitement thrown in

If FP3 was anything to go by, that isn’t great for assuring sponsors. They look well behind Red Bull & Ferrari.

This Horner story will not go away. There is already speculation that new material about the case is being released. This is a scorched earth tactic. Someone wants him gone.

It is distracting from the racing. :banghead:

Yeah - if they end up 6th and 8th on the grid, sponsors won't care where they finished in FP2.

Some speculation this morning that they did well in FP2 by lowering the car - but its not a sustainable position with the skid pad getting too much wear - similar to the post-race DQ last season.

Really don't like that livery on the new RB (AlphaTauri) car.

They've massively overdone the sponsorship visuals to make it look like more like Nascar than F1. Thing looks like a pop-up ad on wheels
