Really think big Ange is getting this one right with letting both them go to be honest. When he was at Celtic he said he loved working with younger players because they were easier to mould into the players he wanted and adapted to his system quicker.
Let's be honest Sanchez has always been a car crash waiting to happen and I for one would love to see our youth players given a go considering some of the quality kids we have coming through and a manager who believes if good enough your old enough.
Look at Barca when they have been forced to play the youngsters with a coach that is able to coach players and bring the best out in them.

Perhaps all this can be explained by the simple logic that Levy, trained and practised as an investment banker, still absolutely loves the thrill of trading and making money on his assets and futures. Like a human stock market, but where the consequences stretch beyond the balance sheet and into things much purer than that.*

Maybe that’s why so many of us struggle to understand.

Fair play to Dav, he could have easily dug his heels in and seen out the last 12 months here like the other two but no, he’s taken on the challenge and gets to play CL football. Also get us a fee.

Best of luck to him - didn’t deserve the abuse he got here and always gave everything. Go smash it Dav 💪🏼

Anyone who's looked at Romero's disciplinary and injury records and decided we don't need to worry about a quality backup is negligent. VDV seems to like a last minute sliding tackle too.
Need a pessimist rating😃

They are both poor players, or at least they've been poor at Spurs for whatever reason. I'm surprised so many are lamenting any of these outgoings. We have so much dead wood its unreal, so we cant really puck and choose when to offload. If theres a deal there and the guys will go, we should let that happen. I look forward to a time when we have about 22 outfielders again, rather than a small town's worth of hangers on.

To be fair - I don't think anyone is really lamenting the outgoings. Those that have voiced concerns are more of the opinion we should have signed a CB in the summer.

If we can't have it the perfect way which would be replacing Sanchez with quality CB I prefer to sell him now and give chance to Phillips than stick with him for another season. We need to finally move on with players that should be gone years ago. Also, I hope this move does not mean Dier is back in the team. We need to move forward. Sticking with players that didn't work out is not moving forward. It's nothing personal, Sanchez and Dier both seem very likable guys and they did they best on the pitch (although I think Dier felt bit to comfortable in the club). But please let's finally move on.

Should have signed the additional CB that everyone knew we needed.

Can see January coming around and we being told that our first choice doesn’t want to leave mid season.

Can see this being a season of “what could have been”. He’ll never learn and it’s the team and fans that will suffer, never the spreadsheet.

It's not ideal too sell Dav without a replacement but it gives us a chance to go for a CB in January without having to sell first. When clearing the decks you need to sell when you can, even if it leaves us vulnerable in the short-term.

Where is it going to get lost. Down the back of the sofa? ENIC don't leverage or take money out of the club. But don't let the truth get in the way of your purple and gold agenda.

These two are leaving today, as it wasn't a priority with the Turkish window being open longer, a CB target not being available (Tapsoba used interest to sign a new deal...lol) and Ange having faith in the youth and existing defenders if needed.

Give it a rest!!
Ange said he wanted another CB. Why let that get in the way of your agenda though?

We'll learn a lot more about what we have with Phillips/Dorrington picking up minutes here and there, and if we have an injury we can reinforce in January, because we won't have Davinson on the books.

Maybe this 15m allows us to push for a player that was a bit out of our price range in the summer, too.
It seems a lot of people would have been happy to keep Sanchez and sell him in January, but by that time a move would surely make less sense for the player. He would only have a few months left to be available as a free agent and reap the rewards that come with it. So not a guarantee that Sanchez would even have agreed to leave in January and we are in the same sell-to-buy situation as this summer.

At least this way he's definitely gone, and Munn & Paratici (pls not Levy!) can get working on whatever plans are going to work for us long term at CB.

I think it was incredibly dumb not to buy an extra CB this summer anyway, given that Dier and Sanchez could both be left to see out their contracts without it affecting the squad too much imo. But it is what it is. It does seem like Ange doesn't mind throwing players into games to see how they respond, and that will likely end up being needed before too long.

Anne said he wanted another CB. Why let that get in the way of your agenda though?
He also said;

"When you go through these things you always understand that there are so many moving parts that I think you rarely come out of it with an ideal picture but that doesn't mean it isn't a picture that can't still work," he explained. "We've still done a fair bit in a short space of time.

"When you look at the team we have got now, we virtually changed half the starting line-up, the way we play, the way we train, totally new coaching staff and training. It was never going to be one window this rebuild. Where we sit at the moment I'm really happy with the players we've brought in."
..and of the viable CB options, Tapsoba (wanted to leverage a better contract) and Tosin, (wanted to go to Monaco instead). Glad we didn't buy a CB that was less than, less than perfect just to stop the baying mob. Ange seems happy for now, positive words about youth promotion, and we can go back into the CB market in Jan if we want with £15m in the bank (a potential first installment).
