I was under the impression irish developers ran out of ££ years ago when the recession hit never mind spunking ££ on some football club in the middle of nowhere.

That was during the boom not the bust. This guy was personally worth upwards of £500M not including his businesses or racehorses

... or Porto's President will do a Levy on him and tell him to sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up and forget about it.

Porto have always been a selling club though? Not sure on the relationship the player would have with the chairman and how they would work it out. I can't remember the last Portuguese player to leave?

If we sign Moutinho, I will run through Tesco's naked, pointing at my old chap whilst dancing in front of old ladies shouting 'you get more than clubcard points with this sausage'. I don't care what the magistrate said the last time. I'll do it again.
So a normal Friday afternoon then?

Thought Wishkah's post earlier in the Twitter thread was interesting -

spurs sent a payment (not a LOC or any of this shit) a straight payment to a club in EUR two days ago. it was rebounded (so i guess rejected). We've sent another of slightly greater size today which hasn't come back....so....all ill say is its gone somewhere.

And reading my previous shite you will know i mention how transfers work (invoice disc, LOC etc) so this one, was pure outbound no crap attached funds (i say funds, it came via some debt).

interesting either way

Does Ukraine count as Europe ? if not I wonder who the fee is intended for ?

No need for more Bentleys, I'd rather have a Honda. ;)
Ooh that's funny (for me), I am currently working at Honda and looking for a new car too... but will likely pick a Merc E-Cabrio.

Oh ITK forum, ah right. errrr....

No Johnson, yay, jumpin' on the bandwagon.

No seriously, I think he is a good player, but doesn't improve 1st team and I feel the money could be injected into other players.

I am not worried about whether he holds up other players progression, if AJ was good enough I would be for it, but he doesn't quite offer enough for me and could well be another Bentley (overpriced for what he offers... and thus in the end, not quite good enough)

I do think a Willian or Isco is needed. Someone still a little raw but with obvious talent who is willing to work their way into the first team and willian to dethrone either Lennon or Bale if they can and be prepared to wait and take chances when offered them. Again, in AJ's case i think he needs a team where he will play regularly before his career stalls any further.

Considering it seems Willian, Leandro and Moutinho are are 3 biggest targets, maybe Moutinho as he's the only one frm Europe :D

I cannot see how we can be as competitive as last season if we lose King, Modric & VDV in the same window. In Levy we trust I spose.

I think i'm a little confused. Why would we send payment if a fee hasn't been agreed??? Surely we would negotiate and agree a sum with the selling club before sending over payment.

Stating the obvious probably, but I'd be overjoyed with Moutinho and Leandro, even if they're the only two that come in now. I'd see this as a significant statement of intent. (y)

Perhaps the receiving club moved those very mobile & very well documented goalposts ;)

I'm no expert, but usually payments are returned if the receiving account details are incorrect. I don't know if this applies to Euro payments and businesses, but it could be something as simple as human error.
