Why don't you all take a few minutes break, make a cuppa and pop something over to help running SC's servers.

We use Paypal but you don't need an account with them, you can use your card in the same way as making any other online purchase. Very securely.

Thank you

****s.

The level of incompetence is actually quite staggering. What the hell kind of day has Doherty just experienced, he would have had no time at all to consider his options and the ramifications of giving up a year of his contract. And if our inability to investigate the rules by which we have to operate really did impact incomings it is just mind boggling.

At least there was no mention of someone random like Kim Kardashian when announcing this transfer. Phew.

Oh.

Even our signing announcement was embarrassing.

Think we should go back to a crap photo on the Club website with the player holding up their shirt stood next to manager.

I know some here are annoyed over club messing up Doherty transfer and not happy with overall activity...spare of thought for Everton fans - their club sell a player for 40m , get a new manager and then not sign 1 player this window....
Exactly, not long ago some on this form were full of envy of Everton new sugar daddy

Fair to say the toxic behaviour between the fans & the board isn’t going away, any time soon.

Feel like this window was another ‘what could have been’ moment & we’ll see the true consequences in the summer with departures.

Why would they announce a loan first and then the termination of the contract if they knew exactly what they was doing. The simplest explanation is they realised after the fact because loaning then terminating within hours is not a normal thing to do.
Why wouldn't they just cancel the loan rather than get Doherty to agree to tear up his own contract - unless Doherty leaving for good was always the plan?

Not saying I agree with the decision. Just that it seems obvious to me the club were always planning to shift Matt for good one way or the other and Matt knew it

Finally you’ve got there, you’ll feel much better now mate ?
The ridiculous thing is, is that I’ve been no fan of ENIC in the last 18 months. You can look at my recent postings if you’re bored senseless - where’s that bloke who had a go at me for only posting during transfer windows; I’ve seen a couple of “disagrees” from him tonight - well I’m going into hiding again. Let’s hope for fewer breakdowns than last year when I see you all for the summer window. Much love.

I don’t get the complaints against the doherty move. He’s a player we’d struggle to sell and an opportunity came to get him off the wage book and we took it. Much better than a loan with no obligation in my eyes
If it had happened earlier in the window or because it was the only way to offload him then fine.

But its clearly because of a rule change they were oblivious to and that reeks of incompetence.

Which is glaring because these people are in control of managing a football squad.

So what else have they fucked up with?

Can you see Tottenham building a squad ready to compete with healthy options with people like this making decisions?

I cant

Not ideal window, but I think the last two years have seen us bring in some very good players:
Romero
Bentancur
Bissouma
Kulu
Perisic
Richarlison
Porro

That's 7 (8 if you include Udogie joining in the summer) first X1 players. Including most importantly, two excellent wing-backs.

We also have good attacking depth: Danjuma, Lucas, Richarlison, Son, Kane, Deki.
Good midfield depth: Benta, PEH, Skippy, Sarr, Bissouma.

I get why a lot of people are frustrated and angry. I'm also annoyed that this center back saga is going to drag into the summer. But, at least it's quite clear what the focus will be over the summer (Regardless of whomever is managing the team). 2x CBs. 1 goalie, and a Lucas replacement will be the priorities.

And if you look at Transfrmrkt, there are loads of free agent CBs this summer, or ones with only 1 year remaining on their contracts. So, we don't have to spend 200M to bring in the aforementioned.

This is a much better squad of players than we had 2 years ago.

The big question obviously will come down to Conte's desire to stay. If he signs that new contract. Hopefully we can finish off the remaining pieces of the puzzle.

Yes, I'm being far too optimistic. Sorry.

It used to be 4 loans in (domestically). Unlimited Internationally. We clearly didn't know about the 8 rule but (I'm speculating) we've also got confused about the 4 rule and that's stopped some deals.

So correct me of i am wrong Rob, so what you are saying means that Chelsea have four players on loan domestically and their other seventy two overseas?

People now moaning about the fucking announcement. I mean I know we didn't have a great window etc but Jesus why do people have to moan about every fucking thing? Even when we make a great signing they can't just be happy. So we let Doherty go, good I hope we let more of those not good enough go to make way. Big summer ahead but a couple exciting signings to enjoy now. Let's go, COYS!

Won't be popular I'm sure, but happy with the business in the main in terms of what I hope to see on the pitch.

Porro should completely transform what we're capable of down that side of the pitch. If he can chip in with the assist that Perisic has while being as dynamic generally as he can be, we should be onto an absolute winner and it should change our performance materially immediately.

Danjuma offers something that we didn't otherwise have at all up top in terms of a powerful running ability to take people on 1v1, which is something Conte never shuts up about, so I hope that he can find a use for it especially with Sonny so woefully out of form.

Would have liked a CB in to start bedding in for a rebuild of the defence over the summer but I can also see why it's not easy to do that kind of business in the middle of the season, especially with someone that Conte would trust to just come into the team immediately. It is what it is and we don't have anyone else in. We're capable of defending properly as it is when we're not playing on shot confidence. It's how miserable we've been going forward and in transition that's been so dire to watch this season, and these two players can bring something towards changing that.

On top of that I'm just hoping that Antonio can get what we need out of players that we already have that we haven't seen anything like the best of for various reasons in Richarlison and Bissouma. Especially Bissouma. It's all well and good wanting new and sexier players in, but it's for fuck all if you get them and can't find a way to make them do the business, which is where we're at with him in particular.

Here's hoping we get something to click soon. If we can get those who have been underperforming their level back up to last season's level, plus these, the season shouldn't be a total waste.
