If Willian is going to be announced, wouldn't it make sense to announce him on Friday? He could be announced, join training, and be in the squad for Swansea as he would be registered before noon. I know it sucks as it'd be an extra 2 days wait, but I could see it happening that way.

what was the reason they delayed Capoue announcement again, for almost a week or so?

I know from a friend's experience, that getting a visa to Russia isnt the easiest or quickest thing to do. So I suspect transferring paperwork, registration documents and work permits wont take 5 minutes.

..and especially if your partner is a Guardian journalist...

Ooh, a topical news related comment

According to my imagination, it was once foretold by an old wiseman named Arthur (or Eric..or something..it doesn't fucking matter ok move on), in millennia long since passed, that in the year 2013 a man named Andre from Portugal who was the pinnacle of coolness would unite with an Italian called Franco who would have far too much hair for his age (the pesto smelling bastard) and a hobbit originating from The Shire who was the pinnacle of baldness.

The prophecy goes that the three amigos would destroy the 2013 transfer window, rendering their bitter and ****ish (Arthur/Eric's words not mine) rivals, Arsenal, flabbagasted. "The Scum", as they were known by the almighty spurs clan, would subsequently implode as a football club, and their fans would flee to the hills where they would interbreed and therefore, logically, become Norwich fans.

The end.

Did you really get a 1st class degree?

I guess the Fernandinho deal would be similar with regards to the work permit etc wouldnt it ?, that seemed to go through ok

I understand the concerns that future windows will never be as exciting as this, but at least our children will be reminded what a conversation with their father sounds like during the summer time.

THINK OF THE CHILDREN GOD DAMMIT!

This transfer window is getting too exiting and may get me fired.

For every 5 minutes of work I do I spend the next 25 looking for new about transfers.

Just gave my mornings work for the gaffer to peruse, should've taken an hour, took 3. When he asked if I'd looked at something else I said no been working on that. He believed me!
Wonder how much I can actually get away with!

Thats what I thought. He's only had two international caps to date. Does he qualify under the exceptional talent heading? IS he half someting else?!
I can't imagine there would be an issue with a 30m signing getting a work permit. If Gomes can get one with all due respect to him then Willian shouldn't be a problem.

When Chelsea and Man city splashed the cash when the'yre sugar daddys invested they went straight to the top table paying ridiculas wages and transfer fee's to entice those players to join there project. To me we are selling our project to the players like Soldado, Paulinho, Willian, etc whilst still keeping to our strict wage ceiling. Were not throwing money around willy nilly and to me that shows the players joining are for the right reasons and for the right intentions, obviously they will not be on peanuts and haven't come cheaply but we have got market value out of each deal with all but Soldado being at any age where they can grow and develop and which would increase their market value over time.

Im loving the reaction to all the other teams supportors, It like you going out and buy a great car but it cost lets say 10K and 1k a year to insure, then someone else rocks up same car cost 5k less and got the insurance for £100 a year.

COYS

Yes we are buying good players and turning them into great players instead of buying from the top of the top. Soldado is already a great player mind.

You guys are so impatient. We only had a media flurry that we were discussing a deal yesterday and some of you are already ready to slit your wrists because you think the deal has been delayed. This is a multi-million pound deal it is never going to be concluded in just over 24 hours.

Long time lurker and admirer (yes that's you I'm talking about A&C) but finally got the confidence (or in this case money) so I figured why not start off with a donation bet. $10 (Yep I'm a yank) to SC if we sign anyone 21 or younger (such as Lamela). Thanks for giving purpose to the past month of my internship.

Ok so we believe Baldini is in Madrid to talk with Coentrao, what we don't know is is he part of the Bale deal or a separate deal...

I was concerned too about the amount of changes and how it would effect team spirit, but then you look at the class we have bought and about to and thye should be able to pick up AVB's way of playing quickly. He has bought them to play his system and those that nhave gone or about to go don't fit that way of playing. Sit back and enjoy the ride

100% spot on.

Some players will not fit into AVB's system, and some of those have already gone or up for sale. If the stories about Ade being almost sold come true then the only two other players that may be feeling the heat would be Townsend, and Defoe. I think Carroll would see the influx of midfield players as a challenge rather than a direct threat.

At the end of the day over the past month the squad has been made immeasurably stronger in all but one area and i am sure that Baldini is working hard to shore up options in that area of the pitch. This TW has been unprecedented, and i am really left wondering with two questions, one is what a defined message of intent Levy has sent out to other PL clubs (and proposed transfer targets), and secondly if you were a Chairman sitting in the boardroom at Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Ure, Man Citeh or Chel$ea wouldn't you be thinking "what the fuck is happening at WHL"?
