I see you laughed at post 9, i thought it was funny as well and was a great way to answer it.
Not really, it's disrespectful to a man who has 63 caps for his country. Whatever floats your boat though.

If you look at squad not sure we need to do anything. Could improve quality at left back.

Can afford to lose one, maybe two (if Carroll comes back) in central midfield. Would leave him at QPR personally.

Strange BAE hasn't been linked away on a permanent basis. He's not coming back and with his contract running down it would make sense to make some money now than lose him on free in the summer

players for player sake no but unlike the summer we need to achieve better balance especially in a couple of key positions

I think we have enough to see us through to the summer. The squad is well covered to play 433/4231.

Also, the caliber of player we should be chasing won't be available in this transfer window.

I know the rumours are just that, but I'm worried that none are linking us with a move for any CBs or LBs.

They all seem to be associating us with strikers and dare I say, more midfielders.

I'd be devastated if we continue with Dawson and Rose in our first 11 come Feb.

Totally agree with this. We need a high class left back and centre back, both of which are more likely to be available in the summer.

Who plays the 1 in the 4-2-3-1 if Ade gets injured though? We've already seen Soldado struggle to affect the game playing on his own up top and even with Sherwood's more attacking philosophy I fear the same result.

We have options but I don't think they are the right ones. If Lamela shows what he can do (and its still a big if) then it will be as a deep lying forward.

No one can occupy defenders and be a focal point other than Ade and I think if we risk leaving us short we could regret it. Even if we just got someone in on loan to cover him it would be enough imo.

I believe Soldado can play that role. It's where he has played his whole career.

If Sherwood persists with the system, it will be interesting to see if Soldado can come in and start scoring, now the whole team is beginning to look a lot more confident and settled.

Said near the start of the window that we needed another striker if we intended to play 4-4-2 every game. That Sherwood has shown he can and will go to one up top effectively then we are as strong as anybody else who typically play with one striker.

Left-back is needed, centre-back would be a good idea IMO assuming Kaboul is shagged. Hopefully we can give Kaboul a few friendly/U21 games before January ends to assess that.

CBs: Vertonghen, Dawson, Chiriches, Kaboul. Capoue, Fryers and even Walker can fill in there. Can't get a new CB until one of the 4 specialist CBs leave. Most likely will be Kaboul in the summer, and given that Dawson is seasoned, Chiriches is transitioning from young to prime, Vertonghen is in his prime, I'd wager we're go for either a very young CB who can bide his time, or an older one who can be relied upon when he needs to play, without being an automatic starter.

LB: Yes, we need one. There's a bloody good lad down at QPR, can't think what his name is though...

So who would you want over Dawson and Rose.

We won't lose him for free in the summer.

I keep saying it but if Ade gets injured we won't make top four imo. We need someone in who can play a similar role.

Well, tim's put this one on the line by saying Chad can do a job there so we'll see. I hope he's trying that option in training as he may well have the potential to be a hold-up/target man. The only thing is I have no idea how well he can perform in the box.

The way we're totally relying on Ade up front makes it a damn foolish move not to have a similar option as back-up.

But hey, we're the masters of never having a fitting contingency so it wouldn't be unique to tim.

Agree with both points of view as contradictory as it sounds. One would hope that Soldado would come in and do well under Sherwood's more attacking principals but I still think its a slight risk.

Surely the prudent course of action would be a loan or a cheaper option like Berbatov providing squad harmony isn't affected.
