So QPR are paying Nedhum Onuha 80k a week...and what if they go down? What happens then?

Idiots.

Amazing that Onuha - a poor man's Bassong is going to be paid 80k a week. That probably matches and exceeds any of the best players at our club. No wonder football is messed up. A joke!

I may be mistaken but I heard some comments about us being interested in Steven Fletcher?? I think that would be a brilliant signing for a back up target man role instead of Pav.

On Dembele, he has great technique and strength on the ball and I can see him playing a VDV role. Better than Krancjar? I don't know but definitely more of a physical player. Besides I can see Krancjar moving to a central midfield position eventually and replacing Hudd as our back up CM.

Can we please have some ITK to put us out of our misery. We just need someone to tell us that we're sticking with what we got. Then this thread can be locked.

Slow isn't the word.

I'm in bed with the flu, so I've stuck on the Norwich game to cheer myself up, Bale has just scored his second

I think some posters said we should be interested in Fletcher, rather than the club being interested in him.

I think with our style of play, he offers the opportunity (a real opportunity) to Rotate. He can play Rafa's or Luka's role IMO

Would be decent back-up for Rafa, but no way he could play as deep as/do all the defensive work Modric does IMO.

Well as it's known they want £15m for Krul

You realise that only 4 GKs in the world have ever cost more than £10m? Buffon, Neuer, de Gea and Peruzzi (so only 2 in the last decade).

Remember keepers have particularly underinflated prices (in contrast to forwards being overinflated).

Well it's clear to everyone that we need a keeper next season and Newcastle have already stated that they will only sell their players at a premium. So unless Krul hands in a transfer request then we're gonna have to pay atleast 10m+ for him IMO.

Which is particularly strange given the importance to the team, but I guess age and consequently sell-on value plays a significant part in it. Keepers are often old, and old players are cheap.

A point then is that all (Peruzzi) these 4 keepers were quite young when they were sold. Shame that Krul isn't older, then ;)

Humour us. Who would you sign, for how much ?

As discussed a billion times there must be at least 40 strikers who would offer more to our team than Pav does now. Fletcher, Sow, Remy, Llorente, Leandro, Long... etc etc

Take your pick.

Upgrading Pav should not be a difficult task.

He is a wrong 'un, a flop, the root of all evil.

I'm not sure we should be upgrading on Pav, our priority should be a player who can be backup to Ade in case he get Injured/suspended/goes AWOL etc... We need a younger version of Ade who is a bit raw but can step in and do a job now with bags of potential. These players are hard to find especially given our wage structure but that is why Spurs have a scouting network.

Pav was signed to do that job, he can't. He is Ade's backup which is why he needs upgraded!

Has Friedel suffered a major slump in form, then?

I'd say that after next season all bets are off, and that if there's a chance of signing Krul at a not-too-exorbitant fee we should go ahead, but the situation isn't desperate.

Wait, so all this 'Where the fuck is our striker?", is because we aren't upgrading our third choice striker? If that is the extent of our problems, we are doing alright.

I don't get the argument of finding back up for Ade. Most of the signals are that he'll leave the club in a few months, at which point we'll then have a back up as our leading striker.

Even if we then signed our "world-class" forward in the summer, players like Fletcher aren't going to leave guaranteed first team prem football in full knowledge that their second fiddle today and tomorrow. Either way, Fletcher isn't the type of player we should be signing.

I think Harry is going for the right players, particularly highlighting that the only additions we should be making to this squad are players that will upgrade the FIRST team.

Who's to say a Pav upgrade would only be 3rd choice? Ade is still not our player and might not ever be. We have needed investment in the forward line for far too long.

out of curiosity, was Demba Ba the one that got into a fight at the West Ham relegation party? A season ticket holder got punched. Happy to be corrected, just occurred to me
