I make this right. Brilliant work

Surely we wouldn’t have a cryptic for Bremer alone though? Our interest is well documented. Maybe we want him and Koulibaly for the defence and that’s the link?

The Goat's Cryptic is from 'That's Amore by Dean Martin

Which referenced being 'back in old Napoli'.

Hmm.

Osimhen?

Either that or we're back in for Zamora...
CB in old Napoli, that's Koulibaly

This could be right. Conte loves him

Don't forget Kulusevski has openly said his favoured position is as a number 10. Might be Osimhen with Kulu offering more than just a WF option

Absolutely. Kulu plays this role for Sweden and its been documented some months ago Conte would like to deploy a 3412 at times.

For the same reason imo it makes sense we continue to be linked with expensive central strikers.

I was thinking that, maybe we've sealed the deal.
You're probably right

Osimhen would be ideal for us! Has the potential to play across the line. Prefers central. Tall, strong and fast! Can run the channels, hold the ball up and knows where the net is! Young so would help refresh the front line again. Scores a lot of headers.

Koulibaly turns 31 in 2 days and would be pretty expensive. Very good player but I'm not sure even Conte and Paratici could get Levy to sign off on that one.

Suspect it's probably someone else since a ton of potential defenders have been listed by ITK but never Koulibaly.

I feel like I heard some osimhen murmurings recently actually and I got the feeling he was our guy
I think Napoli signed him for around £70m so unless they are in financial trouble or are interested in one of our players difficult to think we could sign him for such a huge cost?

They're one of the only clubs in Italy who always make a profit. Very shrewd chairman. Definitely not in financial trouble. We'll have to pay through the nose.

if it's a Napoli player it could be Lozano. He can play anywhere across the front three which is meant to be the type of forward that we're looking for.

This transfer from Lille to Napoli happened in 2020 during covid when Napoli was under FFP pressure as well. Actual cost of Osimhen transaction received by Lille is 36m Eur + 10m Eur addons (which didnt happen yet)...Rest are creative accounting and is part of investigation. Dont want to go into detail in this thread here. Google it and read.

It's clearly Osimhen. He's blatantly on the list of 5, along with Martinez, Richarlison.

Seems like the forward area is going to be the most expensive purchase we make this summer, so that would rule Osimhen in. He'd be expensive but not prohibitively so

We've liked him since his Lille days and he's being linked in the press.

Also need to consider Osimhens age compared to Son and Kane... big, big gap in 2 key areas that in the next couple of years will start to slow down.

I think it's Osimhen as well, agreed

Don't do this to me man! I refuse to believe it's Osimhen. I'm not going to YouTube him... I might YouTube him

Osimhen would be a very good signing and has the right profile to come in now but also be the man in future.

My guess is Koulibaly though. I could imagine Conte being super keen on him and I think I read he might actually be available this window. Not only is he quality but would also bring leadership.

The other would be Zielinski who I'm sure was linked to us in Italian media a couple of weeks back. Not sure why we'd go for him or Ruiz now though. Especially if Eriksen came in as well.

If we get these over the line it will be an utterly transformative window. If that happens I am convinced Conte will be going after the title next season.

The top two are incredible but I think we'd be dark horses. We'd have title challenging quality and depth.
Conte is going for the title next season regardless of who we bring in. The quality and suitability of our signings will determine how successful Conte will be

I think Trix mentioned earlier the Romero transfer fee agreement is structured payments so the whole transfer fee is not due to be paid in one single payment
I’m not sure why anyone would think otherwise. There can’t be many transfers where the buyer pays the whole fee up front.

Koulibaly does have only 1 year left on his contract and is turning 31 on the 20th June so could be a lot cheaper than people expect plus he plays both on the left and right (of a 4 not 3 admittedly). Given itk imagine Bremer and Koulibaly in, Rodon and Sanchez out, that's one of the best groups of CBs on the planet

There's reports that Koulibaly is negotiating a new contract and already rejected offers from abroad.

I think we're looking for a statement signing and Osimhen is just that.
