This transfer from Lille to Napoli happened in 2020 during covid when Napoli was under FFP pressure as well. Actual cost of Osimhen transaction received by Lille is 36m Eur + 10m Eur addons (which didnt happen yet)...Rest are creative accounting and is part of investigation. Dont want to go into detail in this thread here. Google it and read.
Just googled it, wouldn’t surprise me if we did buy him that the Napoli president says he got a price completely different to what we say we paid on our end.
Surely they would deal around the 60/70 million euro mark.

Osimhen would be wonderful but aren't we talking astronomical figures ala Nkunku here?

Always discounted those two as I thought they'd be ridiculously expensive. Like 100m so...

Oshimen has three years left on his contract and cost Napoli about 60m....this one will cost atleast 100m imo. Just can't see it.

If we’re serious about going for the league title, and we have the extra £150M from the new shares, why not?

Well the 150m won't be spent just on new players. Plus, I feel there are other areas that need strengthening first and would benefit some wedge spent on it.
Also, he seems to be able to play only as a striker, and at 100m I'd want some versatility up front too. So I personally don't think it would be the wisest of players to spend such a vast amount of money on.

Additionally if you’re buying a player for £75m it’s not going to use half the budget as you’re not going to pay all up front.

I guess it differs from deal to deal but I imagine nearly all transfers are paid over the length of the players contract and so therefore taken from our operational income which will have increased with the stadium and ideally champions league regularly.

So there’s a chance we could spend big on a couple of players.

People forget that we have our own De Bruyne in the team already if utilised a certain way... Mr Harold Kane.

How's this for versatility, a diamond up top of Kane behind Osimhen, Son and Kulusevski. Doesn't look bad to me at all that

I'd rather not take our best player out of his best position.

Nice to see a cryptic.

I'll just add I posted one a while back that is still currently in play but it was so good literally everyone missed it. :D

It's not something I can confirm right now even if you find it as it's not exactly common knowledge as yet, and tbh the only reason I'm telling you it's out there is because I've had a few bevies.
That’s tickled me, tanked up at half 3 in the morning causing havoc.

So on the cryptic about midfielders playing in Italy but not Italian; I always thought Mckennie. Iirc juve knocked us back on our enquiries and now we have Bissouma.

Packets = Paqueta? Trix has been the one saying that Eriksen is far from certain. He's also said that there are alternatives that he would prefer but they'd cost money.

My theory is that with Bremer now being our main CB target, we are saving money. That money can go elsewhere such as on a striker.

Osimhen and Paqueta would make sense as they would complete our forward and midfield line up completely. Son, Kane and the #10 spot all get cover with these two signings.
