Bissouma was definitely planned, possibly Richarlison, but I also think that deal came from us knowing how much Everton needed a big sale.
Forster - irrelevant, does what it says on the tin
Lenglet - stop gap until next season
Spence - did his best work post Jan, possibly planned, took weeks to sort, has only made the squad of late due to injuries
Perisic - class, cracking business
Udogie - N/A

We’ve got Richarlison to cover any of the front 3. Lucas we’ve tried to shift and isn’t good enough, Gil is unhappy at the club. Could be looking at a 50/60 game season with 4 forwards covering 3 spots. Needed at least 1 more in
Why do people keep calling Lenglet a stopgap? Because it’s a loan? He’s on loan because Barca are literally trying to sue him over his contract, there was zero chance of us paying the wages he’s on now and zero chance of them agreeing to pay him out before the legals are resolved. If he does well we will have every chance to keep him, he’s not going back to Barca where the fans hate him.

Got no idea why we would think anything would be different in January, if anything we've been told time and time again during mediocre January transfer windows how difficult it is to do deals in January.

Think the window has been solid, unfortunately not spectacular like it seemed like it was going to be at the beginning. Still a few glaring holes in the squad.

Done a good job getting people out the door, albeit on loan.

Probably a 7/10 window and a fight for fourth across the season.
Our two major targets (Bastoni and Zaniolo) are yet to sign new deals, while that’s the case January will always be a time where we can seriously strengthen

Well I think it's fair to say it's been a disappointing end to the window with how well we started it. I suppose if we're looking for positives the biggest one would be the coach I thought we hired is not the one we have. I never expected Conte would be happy to build a squad over time, but here we are. We've looked at numerous options to add to the squad over the last couple of weeks, but AC would rather wait. We've looked at bringing in loans to bridge the gap, but like many on here Conte didn't believe those we could have got were of sufficient quality, so we haven't done it.

We've been looking at a couple today, but for whatever reason(don't know yet) it's not happened.

It's been super tight info wise the last couple of weeks, and I can see it being this way going forward.

See if I hear any more over the next couple days for the usual window round up.

Ps. this is just my view, I don't represent the club, so quoting this post to tell me where we went wrong is pointless.
I’m glad that’s what we are doing as a club and prepared to wait for the right quality players, instead of settling for stop gaps and repeating errors of the past. This in itself shows we are progressing.

I do agree that we could probably do with another attacker but if we couldn't actually get who Conte wanted, I'd much rather we wait and try again, than sign a lesser player just to make up numbers.
Maybe a loan would've been good but again, would it provide any more quality than what we've got.
Lucas and Gil should be enough til January and if push comes to shove, Perisic and even Spence could cover.

Just like we would if we get injuries.
We’ve been missing our best centre half for 6 of our last 8 games… and we’ve taken 16 points from those 6 games. To suggest our depth isn’t better than Arsenal’s is both nonsense and being miserable for the sake of it. Like everyone, I’d like more players because I’m a fan and therefore like a kid at Christmas. But it’s not become a bad window overall if the plan is to keep investing over the next windows

Like trying to get blood from a stone my end today sorry.

Was told to expect 2 more in for the past few weeks but obviously certain things had to fall into place for that to happen.

We won't just buy stop gaps anymore and end up having the same issue we currently have trying to shift the deadwood.

Rumours of January are true, we are already lining up potential deals we can revisit apparently.

Conte has said it will take a few more windows to get to the desired level to compete at the top. He's happy with the business we've done but I'm sure the same as the rest of us, he would have liked a couple more in. CB, RWB and AM will be the focus of the next window.
Cheers mate. As long as everyone is of the same page and content I can unclench and we'll just have to keep on keeping on in the meantime.

Yeah I don’t disagree with you, and the whole wait for the quality that conte wants to come around is sensible, only issue is football doesn’t stand still. Like someone said, conte is in his last year of contract at the minute. Kane 2 years. Just wish we’d have a proper go sometimes rather than planning for the future, cause it clearly hasn’t worked that way in recent history!

I think that might be a typo as @Hotspur88 usually talks about RWF not RWB
It wasn't a typo, the club are still looking at a RWB as I don't believe there is huge confidence in either Emerson or Doherty. Emerson was one of the players Conte had a slight change of heart with but not enough to end our pursuit of a top quality RWB.

One doesn't enter a negotiation having to buy. That's what Man U seems to be doing and it could/has crippled their progress forward even with all the money they have had at their disposal.

It sounds as if Spurs finally have the right balance when it comes to transfers. We went in aggressively on the deals that were relatively easy to make happen. They were willing to to back off of those individuals who we think, but don't know who were our top prospects because the fees were so high or the players may not have wanted to come. Given that it is a WC year, the January transfer window is going to come quick and if those two players have any interest in joining, their fees should drop considerably given their contract situation which to be fair to them, means they could demand more money. If they didn't want to come, it was pushing with a rope.

This was a solid transfer window and only the Dembele et al window ranks up there with it in recent years. This year's Spurs, once they gel, would beat last years Spurs team comfortably. The two most important next steps, barring a last minute VDV, is Conte and Harry signing extensions which would tell everyone that they are fully committed.

Thanks H88! I’m surprised we weren’t even linked to Dest then, especially as he was available on loan.

Late drama? I just spotted Neymar on the 149 bus from Seven Sisters , I said "hey Neymar you signing for Spurs?" and he replied "I'm not Neymar and stop breathing on me". Make of it what you will.
I don't get it, why is he denying that he is Neymar and was he driving the bus or just riding it?

These Brazilians and their buses huh?

As soon as Arsehole get some injuries they will fall away. They haven’t played anyone decent yet and Arteta is their manager so I’m sure it won’t be long and they’ll be dropping down.
As soon as arsenil start the europa league they will fall apart, we know the pain of Thursday/Sunday

I think given time with Spence he'll decide maybe we have a high quality RWB in house already, much like he did with working with Sess.

We have come out of the window stronger than when we went into it. I am happy with what we have done.
