Thing is, in paper we had a fantastic window last summer, so I won't judge this window until we see what the players can do for us on the pitch.

Royal is a really promising signing, for example. 14 assists last year. Think we will see him used in a more forward position than people think.

That still doesn't excuse the lack of a CF or creative attacking output, but Levy is gonna Levy. So let's see what we can do with the options that we have.

I think a lot of you need a reality check and to be aware that this isn’t a game of football manager. We kept our main asset, upgraded a number of key positions and are top of the league. The team are playing with confidence, Dele looks up for it for the first time in a long while and our RB position has a solid upgrade. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, and can only hope Tanguy sorts himself out and tries harder. Could be depression not simply laziness. Be kind.

Be patient, let’s judge the business of the club at the business end of the season. #coys
We may have kept our main asset this summer but what happens in Jan or next summer? We havent shown him any ambition or incentive to stay. We had a chance to show ambition and what this window shows is that we are planning for 3 or 4 years time hoping that these young players come good.

Its frankly not good enough for a team that aspires to be top 4.

Oh well. On the bright side, all the players have had the whole pre-season to get used to each other and the new manager, we've had no major disruption to team morale and there's not a global pandemic that's going to lead to half the team quarantining/isolating for most of the year...

Wait til City swoop in ten minutes with a 170 m offer for Kane. Which gets accepted and they loan us their best U10 prospect as part of the deal.

In a few days I hope after everything calms down that we see that overall this was a good window and when we got Nuno we said it was the start of a new project and the painful rebuild was finally happening. It wasn't perfect, but we're a lot closer to where we want to be at the start of the window. I think the competition for places for our defense and midfield can be beneficial to our players if what has been said is true about Nuno being a straight shooter and creating a tight knit positive atmosphere.

Although we didn't get in the forward we probably need, I'm hoping we stay healthy and fresh enough. I hope that these players we invested in that are younger decide to step up and take on some responsibility and improve this season.

Even though I live in the US, it's clear that having the fans back in the stands have been a major boost to our squad. So, if at anything, keep getting behind the manager and the players and let's hope the positive start to the season continues! #COYS

Thank fucking God we didn’t sell Kane. We would have completely screwed up even getting replacements in.

That being said, I’m good with the window. Thanks for all of those that kept information updated in here and I liked the new format a lot, hope that continues in future windows. Now we all get to enjoy our favorite time of the season: the first international break. Wonderful stuff.

I'm underwhelmed. Also, other people I've been underwhelmed by or apprehensive about when we signed them include Bale, Alderweireld, Lloris, Eriksen, Son, Parker, and Vertonghen. Oh, and Poch.

Signings I've been buzzing about include Tanguy, Aurier, Soldado, Lucas, and Mourinho.

Conclusion: Give it 15 years and this guy is clearly going to end up with a statue on White Hart Lane.
hope your conclusion is right

Added Serie A’s defender of the year and rock in the Copa, one of the best young RBs in Europe, a full Italy international to eventually succeed Hugo, Spain’s biggest talent aside from Ansu and Pedri who I think can seriously contribute sooner rather than later, and a fantastic dynamic midfield talent for the future. New deal for Son, Kane stays. Sold 3 players many wanted gone. I, like everyone else, am really worried about the central striker options, but on the bright side hopefully Scarlett can shine in the ECL and easier cup ties. It really comes down to the health of the forwards and one of Ndombele or Gil providing a real spark. The lack of a striker hurts more than the lack of players in other positions, but there are big positives and some top additions from the window.

I'm telling you now. Levy is going to do something wild around 9pm

this sort of thinking is what keeps me refreshing threads and Twitter, just on the off chance levy pings an email over

To: Fabio Paratici
CC: Steve Hitchen
bCC: Jorge Mendes
Subject: Adama Traore

Message: oh, go on then.

But they'll never have Royal (Royal)
We can add him to Ledley King and K-Prince Boateng,

I'm satisfied with our business this window. We covered off all the weak spots from RB,CB and WF. We didn't bring in a CM or CF but I suspect Dele has helped with the CM.

"Despite the Head Coach, Director of Football and Director of Technical Performance all deciding that Traore was the one they wanted and spending the last week of the window negotiating for him, thankfully L
evy saw sense and told them at the last minute that in fact he wasn't going to sanction their crazy attempt to give us a new attacking option and we'd be sticking with our two non-scoring wingers and the youth team player."

There you go.

While reading this issue, one thing is unclear to me. Did Levy reject the Whole Traore deal, or did he reject the Cash-up-front structure of the payments. Either way it kills the deal, but it would be good to know the reasoning.
And are Wolves clever enough to structure a deal that they knew Levy would reject.

Lols - how do you UPGRADE Bale when you are in the UEFA Conference Paints Shield tournament ???

Measure your expectations people.

How do you not play in the conference league when you wont strengthen enough too aim higher?

We had 2 jobs to do this summer.

1 - solidify the defence: which you could argue we have done although I am concerned that LCB doesn’t seem to have been upgraded.

2 - increase the creativity in the team - we have failed massively in this whilst at the same time losing goal scorers without replacing them.

Yes we have won our first 3 games and the City game was really enjoyable but we could have lost all three of those games on another day - we have not looked imperious.

Ultimately we look like we’re setting for Europa League at best. I can’t see us troubling the top unless we get unbelievably lucky, and historically we are not a lucky team!
