My issue isn't that we haven't signed Adama, as I was unsure on him anyway. But to not sign anyone to replace Bale and Vinicius is absolute fucking insanity.

Yes, thats the worst. Were are the options lined up we can pull the trigger? How on earth is it too much to ask to get one senior attacker in with all the players that have left the club? We showed in the first leg against Pacos our 2nd line is absolutely toothless up front.

if that bellend truly wants to fill the stadium up with CL games he better stop making footballing decisions. Support the recruitment and back the manager.

Hope Fab is giving him an earful.

Spending 30m for Emerson when we still have 3 other right backs at a club but refusing to spend 40m for Adama when we have space for another winger/striker at the same time doesn't quite add up IMO...
Very odd isnt it? I mean, we certainly need a RB in the mould of Emerson but if you're not prepared to spend, surely you'd reserve that money for a position that lacks depth.

Yep, this is where I'm at.

If we decide that £50m or whatever is too much for Adama, fine. It's a big fee for a player who still has some question marks. However, no having an alternative, even one for much less money, is just astonishing.

There are 30 goals in the squad from last season that we haven't replaced. That's really, really worrying I think.

Just a view but if I was negotiating on price, one of my tactics would be to leak out that we’re done and walking away to convince the other team to accept. I find it odd that as a club we let ITK’s communicate so much of our intentions … surely there’s a risk of impacting our position - especially as anything in here tends to end up on Twitter!

the last few hours is the hunting ground

Bale yes. His ability to bully the smaller teams will be missed. I’m really not convinced by the idea that Vinicius needs “replacing”. He only played against dross and only came into the Premier league side when things were horrible and Mourinho was desperate to find a solution. I’d like a new striker but they’ve gotta be someone good enough to play regularly in the league. If they’re just playing fodder like Vinny was we’re better off using Scarlett imo. Go big on a striker or don’t bother.

And apparently to some people this is fine, which I can't quite understand, but hey ho.

I certainly think people can be brattish and spoilt when it comes to transfers and I'm not saying we have reason to go into a mega meltdown. But it does leave you disappointed knowing that there are positions to improve or areas that need work, only for Levy to put a stop to it and state we have enough.

Hitchen and Paratici have clearly been working on deals, and Nuno wanting Traore tells you that they all feel that there are gaps in the first team.

It's frustrating because Levy's denial is what is holding this club back, it's what led us down the path of our downfall from being in a truly outstanding position that Poch and the players had worked beyond to get to.

If Nuno manages to do the same, is Levy going to listen to Paratici telling him what to do to turn us into winners or is he going to settle?

Disappointed is fine. Hell, I'm disappointed, but there's constructive and destructive ways of expressing that disappointment. SC'ers tend to err heavily on the side of destructive. That's what grinds my gears.

I'm very on board with the method of "if the manager wants Traore, we should do everything in our power to get that deal done", but I also see the point of view that Traore would be a massive punt. We took a massive punt on NDombele that has fallen flat on it's arse. Once bitten, twice shy and all that. I can see the pros and cons to it. Traore is not a panacea.

If true, Levy has not learnt much over the last few months and his relationship with the fanbase. Even if it isn't true, its believable and that will cut through regardless.

He’s had 20 years of lessons. No reason to think he’s suddenly had an epiphany to change the way he’s always been.

The only possible attempt at an explanation I have - and I’m not even sure I’d have the conviction to say this out loud - is that we have: Kane, Son, Berg, Moura, Gil and Scarlett for 3 places.

I mean, it’s beyond a stretch. I was convinced he’d bring in Adama given the Mendes stuff.
But then again we had even more players in those positions last year but we still went and signed Bale.

He hasn't. Up until this Fab has been in control. That said this is the first deal where it's been about serious money up front. As long as Fab has been getting good creative deals through with loans/obligations it's been fine to let him get on with it.

A lot of pressure on DL right now from those that know about football. Not sure he gives a fuck though, table speaks for itself, innit.
No disrespect but surely Levy is not that naive and looks at table position after 3 games.

I went from hoping our window ended with a flourish and we added a couple of needed players to now hoping Paratici doesn’t quit. Gotta love it.

The trouble with those 3 RBs is one nobody wants in Doherty, one isn't a natural RB in Tanganga and though he has done well he doesn't possess the attacking ability we need in an Emerson, and Aurier by all accounts wants out and will be gone next summer at the very latest.

So the worst thing that could've happened is us to win our first 3 games for that badly wee tosser to close the purse strings. Once again the thing holding us back is our fucking chairman. After all the shit with the manager choice and then being told FP is looking after things for this tosser to come in at this stage and think what we have is fine is a disgrace. Taking the fans for morons once again.

Also don't think we made the right choice between Emerson and Tomiyasu.

I don't see why we still can't get a 3rd, 4th, 5th choice etc....

There's time left. Why are we certain nothing will happen?
