He hasn't. Up until this Fab has been in control. That said this is the first deal where it's been about serious money up front. As long as Fab has been getting good creative deals through with loans/obligations it's been fine to let him get on with it.

A lot of pressure on DL right now from those that know about football. Not sure he gives a fuck though, table speaks for itself, innit.

Hasn't he learned from last season?? We were top for weeks and look how that turned out. He cannot really be that short-sighted.

And this I think is the biggest issue of all, not just in football but in life.

In the UK you don't even have the RIGHT to a roof over your head. To feel you have the right to have a tantrum over football transfers is just childish. People do have a right to be childish, but at least could recognise that they are being childish.

Twitter and Facebook have so much to answer for.
I certainly think people can be brattish and spoilt when it comes to transfers and I'm not saying we have reason to go into a mega meltdown. But it does leave you disappointed knowing that there are positions to improve or areas that need work, only for Levy to put a stop to it and state we have enough.

Hitchen and Paratici have clearly been working on deals, and Nuno wanting Traore tells you that they all feel that there are gaps in the first team.

It's frustrating because Levy's denial is what is holding this club back, it's what led us down the path of our downfall from being in a truly outstanding position that Poch and the players had worked beyond to get to.

If Nuno manages to do the same, is Levy going to listen to Paratici telling him what to do to turn us into winners or is he going to settle?

My issue isn't that we haven't signed Adama, as I was unsure on him anyway. But to not sign anyone to replace Bale and Vinicius is absolute fucking insanity.

Just seems to be a case of Levy not being able to help himself.

It's a shame because in his statement he said about learning from his mistakes and losing sight of what matters which is what happens on the pitch and yet when it comes to the stadium, facilities etc, he goes all out and pushes the boundaries and takes risks but when it comes to the pitch he just can't bring himself to do that little bit extra.

Nuno seemingly shot himself in the foot by proving himself a good manager and getting results.

Seems like a pointless appointment then really. Basically gets someone to do all the negotiation for him, and then he can rock up and say “nah”.

Fuck me. Baffled.
This is literally what you argued against me like 3 days ago.

Going for a walk with the kids but there’s much about your post you could apply to at the beginning of last season and look how that went
True - was it Jose or the squad. Time will tell, I just prefer to think positive and get behind the team (not saying that you aren’t).

it’s easy to get too emotional involved in a transfer window - it’s the same every year, we consider every rumour as fact or expectation so always end up disappointed. On balance I’ve seen worse years for sure - and I see reason for optimism.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

If true, Levy has not learnt much over the last few months and his relationship with the fanbase. Even if it isn't true, its believable and that will cut through regardless.

I agree with this.

I would have loved Traore but if we can't afford it then we should still be trying to get some sort of cover /competition in for the forward areas.

We're desperately short. Especially with this conference league .

So basically Levy has no problem spending tomorrow's money - loans, obligations, installments, but he won't sanction a move involving a bigger money upfront.

Doesn't really surprise me.

Personally not fussed about traore but if we did a lowball 5m loan (can’t remember exactly what was mentioned) then that’s not really a serious offer, Levy is fundamentally undermining Pat.

Spending 30m for Emerson when we still have 3 other right backs at a club but refusing to spend 40m for Adama when we have space for another winger/striker at the same time doesn't quite add up IMO...

Nah Mitchel was Mr Moneyball, coaches and scouts were looking at his suggestions and couldn't understand how they fit. They just had good numbers in certain areas.
I think N'Jie and N'Koudou highlight this too.

Decent numbers for promising players but very weak when you actually watch them play.

I seem to recall some ITK earlier this summer - can't remember who from - that Fabio was brought in specifically for these types of deals.

The only possible attempt at an explanation I have - and I’m not even sure I’d have the conviction to say this out loud - is that we have: Kane, Son, Berg, Moura, Gil and Scarlett for 3 places.

I mean, it’s beyond a stretch. I was convinced he’d bring in Adama given the Mendes stuff.
