ITK
I think he's a great player to add to the squad. We need to keep picking up players with potential as our squad is starting to age. I think the long term aim is to make him a top attacking LB but he can also be a squad option in wide areas early on. He has pace and good movement so would suit us, and should improve with better team mates.

Plus he's so young that he doesn't even take up a squad place yet. We've got two seasons to develop him before we need to decide where he really fits in.

Would love us to still sign Lo Celso but it creates one hell of a selection headache with current faves at risk of not even making the bench.

If Eriksen stays and the rumoured change of formation it makes us less reliant on him for creativity.

With the ITK that Trippier is on the way, may be it’s a case of Eriksen stays and the Lo Celso funds are being redirected to bring in a new RB and the ‘mystery’ player.

I think Lo Celso probably isn't just about the finances in terms of having to sell before buying (though that will be a factor) but more so related to squad size. I also think it is unlikely dependant on Eriksen, but rather on Lamela. I think at this point it looks like Eriksen is staying, but perhaps that still might play into the whole Bale scenario; I mean its unlikely but Real might see that as the only way to shift Bale, offer us a favourable deal and take Eriksen in return even if he might not be their key target and is simply a way out of Bale for them. If we get Lo Celso too I could stomach that, but I would of course love Eriksen to stay.

Re: Lo Celso - i.e. needs an exit before he comes...this was so obviously going to be the case. I'm amazed anyone thought differently

Re: Bale - I just don't see it for so many reasons, nor Zaha. I think the opportunity cost of spending that amount of money on a late 20s AM, when we have several and need to spend elsewhere, is too high.

I also think we should try and flog Lamela personally, but that's just my personal opinion

Stop thinking with a small club mentality.... If we want Bale we get him simple. Levy/lewis have the money haven't spent for a whole window and struck a windfall of well over £150m last season alone not considering the Wembley ticket sales etc.

We are one of but a few clubs who could operate fully without a single fan entering the stadium

He hasn't, just said that sky are premature in saying the deal is done.
We may have agreed the price but waiting on the medical or how it will be paid etc...

Pretty sure Sky didn't say the deal is done, just fee agreed. JJ said they've jumped the gun, ie fee is not yet agreed.

I think Ndombele medical tomorrow is unlikely if JJ is saying no fee yet agreed (ie that Sky Sports have jumped the gun)

Depends. If we are close enough to a figure both clubs are happy with we could do a medical and still work on finalising the deal.

Wouldn't be much point in agreeing a fee for him to fail a medical or we find an issue.

I think that the principle figure has been agreed but the finer details such as add-ons need to be sorted so the overall deal hasn't been fully agreed.

It's not small club mentality. When we gave kane his new deal i'm sure we told him that £200k a week plus add ons was the highest we could go with wages. What is he going to think if we start paying bale £600k a week?

100% agree - look at our bench when we were struggling vs. Ajax - i know we had injuries but we had to bring on 2 full backs - who won't change a game like Sess could out wide with pace

You're all forgetting that ITKs hear different things at different times from different sources.

JJ, Ali & ghostofarmo's info doesn't contradict one another, as such. JJ says not done yet, Ali says close, ghost says medical tomorrow. All of those things can be true at the same time, and it's very encouraging to hear multiple ITKs all basically conceding that a deal is close.

While JJ says Sky are jumping the gun, if the deal *wasn't* close, I think he'd have explicitly said so.

Pretty sure Hercs said Lo Celso was set on us and other ITK said we could get both our midfield choices and keep Eriksen. So what has changed?

Yeah my understanding is deals can get to a certain point where the clubs are confident they'll iron out the final parts and in the meantime they'll give the player permission to agree terms and have his medical whilst the clubs continue with the agreement.

Basically what's changed is where we were moaning about Ndombele information going quiet, that has now accelerated but we aren't happy unless we are miserable about something so the Lo Celso deal looks prime real estate for a thing to be moaning about.

I don't rightly know. I'm just some random bloke on the internet who hasn't the faintest idea what's going on. Hopefully that is the eventuality that comes to pass, though.

we won't be paying Bale 600k per week. if he comes to us on a loan RM will be paying the majority. if RM pay him of and he comes to us on a small fee/free then he will all ready of received his wages for the next 3 years, and won't be demanding 600k per week, because Bale and his agent know that no club out there will pay those kind of wages to anyone other than RM

Why are you not taking into account the £1bn stadium and the extended and unscheduled use of Wembley?
We are clearly making positive moves this TW but that doesn't mean we are suddenly Man City / RM where FFP is irrelevant.

I wonder if Janssen does not move on, as per the ITK from the Goat, whether if he ends up staying and can maintain his fitness could end up being a useful alternative to Llorente?

That wasn't what the post i was replying to said though. It said if we want him we get him.
