Agree.

I don't think we are valuing him too highly. The price seems rediculous, yes, but I always argue that a player's value is quantified by what he is worth to the selling club, not by comparisons with other players, i.e. "Ronaldo was only £80m and Bale's not as good as him, ergo he is only worth £60m".

I simply can't agree with this enough! I've been continually irked by talk about how bale isn't worth x, or modric wasn't worth y, or berba wasn't worth z!
Take a step back to consider it and of course they aren't! I mean come on, we're talking 10s of millions of pounds, there's an air of the ridiculous abt it.
At the same time, given the subjective nature of "valuing" players then the easiest way to look at is it like you say, his value is what he's worth to the selling club independent of any qualitative consideration.

No. I think it means the Ade bit is true. I think Breezer and JJ are both pretty close to what is going on, especially given Breezer's knowledge of what happened at the Enfield game.

Breezer thinks Bale is sulky.
JJ thinks he will go.

I hope both of them are wrong, or at the least JJ (as JJ does too!)

What has breezer said that showed he was present at the game?

Bale sulking or not sulking is totally irrelevant in my mind. Not going to make a blind bit of difference to Levy.

He'll be fine when the window shuts.

I hope LLM onion on Bale isn't based on just a hunch but stuff he's heard and not stuff he hasn't heard otherwise that solidified JJ's info that only a select few know what's going on.

I think the club is in a win win situation if the ITK reports on figures are true.
Keep him, he'll hit 20-25 goals again, propelling us onwards.
Sell him, so long as the money is reinvested wisely, and despite losing our star, we could strengthen as a whole.
I personally think the fee's being mentioned are over the top, but hey, if Levy can get top dollar, fair play.
Key points, has to be done soon, not last week/day of the window, and replacements have to be of a good enough calibre to compensate.
My opinion, it's going to happen, may already be underway, and replacements are being secured to soften the blow before it is announced. (And make sure we don't get bent over on price if clubs know we have that much money)
The Bale money could get us a quality LB, CB and CF/WF, and still have money left. £85m = £15m LB, £15m CB and £20m striker with £35m left over. Maybe get Lamela with some of that?
Any other outgoings would be bonus cash to cover signing on fee's, wages, earlier transfers, couple of youngsters etc.

I've come to the conclusion whatever happens we'll do well out of it. I've accepted it either way. No point getting upset over it. We'll cant loose!.......if the reported prices are right.........and Levy does spend a good chunk of the money. If not.....FUCK!

Where did you get the "Bale is not angry" from? I couldn't make that out from his tweets (genuinely interested - not doubting you!)

This.

What I'd really like to know is why they think/dont think he's going... It sounds like RM just dont have the money so cant see how the transfer could every go through, does JJ think they'll get the money or we'll sell for less? Not asking, just wondering...

I didn't say he was at the game, but that he had knowledge of what happened. IIRC he was the first to tell us

1. That there was a game, and
2. That it had been postponed for a day.

No?

The Club can't lose on Bale.

RM unsettled OUR player, courting him very publicly and persisting with a hugely disrespectful campaign of talking bollocks to anyone dumb enough to listen - they should be made to compensate us handsomely, or sod off.

Bale is trying to establish himself as a global brand, cultivating an aimage as "incredible footballer every mother would like for her daughter". Sorta like a cross between Pele and Paul McCartney. Anyway, he's not going to want to do anything to damage that image of his, ruling out any public sulking/tantrums/Modric.

If Real can meet our demands, we'll have a truckload of cash, potentially easing the pressure to find a mega-bucks naming rights deal.

If Bale stays, he WILL want to outperform his last season, building his brand and value. We will gain huge exposure, should finish in the Top 4 (at the very least) and strengthen our position as a steadfast club with ambition.

Nothing to worry about!

I don't think Bale will go. Perez has already been in the press today going on about how Bale is too expensive. So did your attempt to get him at 60 million quid fail already - you bit of continental entrepreneurial wank? Now comes the climb down.......he isn't worth 85m can we please take a rain check Mr Levy...can we please pay 12 pounds a month Mr Levy.....do you have a lay by plan Mr Levy.... look at me Mr Levy I've been skint all along but I do have a bit of flint and two pesetas (pre Euro mint condition) in my trouser pocket....c*nt.

zis. JJ seemingly has top level connections at the club. Only the top two or three management types will know one way or the other; there would be no point Levy communicating this stuff to anyone else if everything is up in the air - LLM says avb utilises the players he's given, so even he might not know the full facts... the coaching staff probably don't have much more of an idea than the rest of us.

I was confident he'd stay, but the longer JJ sticks to his guns and we hear nothing offical form the club, the more it seems there could be a deal done.

Is it not possible that the Madrid reps are hanging around simply because there's still a deal to be done for Coentrao?

With social media available on the move, it's quite impossible to determine who disclose a piece of info first without a thorough investigation.
