Nothing in Huntelaar and Gio swap deal, Levy still working on problem areas.

Centre back is a worry, we are nowhere on getting decent cover yet.

Do we need more centre backs?

Harry might now see Kyle Walker as good enough backup for Corluka at right back, allowing Kaboul to be used more as cover at centre back along with Bassong, for Ledley and Dawson.

Please tell me that striker is being dumbed down from CF, #9, Target man....take your pick

Yeah, I'd probably off myself if the "striker" was Bellamy

though he could be a key part of our new 4-3-3:

Bellamy Keane Defoe

Dos Santos Modric Lennon

BAE, Bassong, Walker, Naughton

Ideally we'll get Marin for left mid...then add Lahm next year!

Yeah but is kaboul a good enough centre half to be back-up for those three?

I'm not so sure.

Definitely not!

I can cope with Kaboul as a back-up RB, but he's far too much of a liability to be risked at CB. Would much rather have Corluka come into the middle and Kaboul at RB in that level of injury crisis.

4th choice centre back:

Arsenal: Djourou
Man Utd: Wes Brown
Chelsea: Ivanovic (in the centre)/Bruma
Man City: Onouha/Richards
Liverpool: Kyrgiakos

We have Corluka, Kaboul, Walker and even Huddlestone who can slot in there if needs be. Man Utd managed to finish second playing Michael Carrick at centre back in some games last year.

Obviously if we can find a better 4th choice than those lot then great, but we aren't going to have the perfect squad.

If that was our forwards and midfield we would need to get Ken Dodd in to coach them.

After years of Reading your posts, I've come to the conclusion
that you know very little or don't understand much about football.

Every time Corluka has been played at CB, he doesn't look comfortable,
he's slow on the turn, he doesn't read the danger, and just
generally looks untidy.

I love Charlie as a RB, but no way should he ever play at CB for
us in a competative match again.

To be fair he was probably just trying to highlight the point that Kaboul is such a shite centre back that he'd rather see Corluka there who's proven himself to be unreliable in that position.

Has kaboul even played centre back for us since returning from Pompey?

Dont judge him on his first spell with us

Indeed. Or more highlighting the need to replace Woodgate with a serious specialist CB so we don't find ourselves in that situation.

Yes. If Ledley could play all our matches or Woodgate could play... well, any matches, then we'd be sorted, but neither of those things are true. And while Bassong is a fine back-up, I don't really want to be going into matches against Manchester United or Chelsea or Real Madrid with he and Dawson lining up alongside each other, which we're quite likely to be forced to do as things currently stand.

Then micah richards really isnt the answer.

Oh, is that what we're talking about? I thought it was just general chit-chat. Wouldn't be averse to Richards though. Still a lot of potential there, can cover right-back and centre-back... Wouldn't be too fussed if we missed out on him mind, but of all the uninspiring transfer targets which keep getting bandied about, he's the one I'd be happiest with.

I have a funny feeling it will be Huntelaar, Hleb, Richards, Bellamy and Pletikosa.

If that's what we got, we'd be rather good next season.

Unlike many, I don't get the fear of Dawssong together, they were great last season, both young enough to learn together and get a long term partnership going (ooer). King can hopefully step in less and less only on the biggest occasions. But at this point in time I doubt we can afford or have time to go for a new CB who'd walk straight into the first team nor do I think Harry wants to do that. Hence looking at Richards with premiership experience who wont need to adapt or do a Kaboul mk1 on us.

Curtis Davies anyone? Was reading in one of the rags that he was one of those on Lerner's list of "up for sale to bring in money" players that MON was upset about and led to his resignation.
