Yep, and I'll just add I've had it confirmed once again and this time almost from the horses mouth, that Conte spoke to him weeks ago(and has done since) and the player back then had told Conte he would like to come if a deal could be sorted. All this "doesn't want to leave stuff" has been manipulated from him saying he was happy to stay at Inter. Him being happy to stay doesn not mean he would not leave if the right opportunity was there for him.
Brilliant to hear.

Nothing like an unhappy player trying to adapt in new conditions.

Thanks for that.

Hope it was ok to quote you.

That's very good to hear. Certainly frames those recent agent quotes in the positive light that a lot of us read them in. Makes sense to want to leave in the most dignified way possible if it suits all parties.

He can play in the hole, it's not his primary position. Dele played there when he was with us. He largely played tucked in on the right. Under Conte he played initially as a 10 behind Lauturo and Lukau and didn't do very well there and dropped into midfield. He played in midfield for Brentford this season.
The point is he does most of his best work in advanced areas providing direct assists to goals. He's not a Modric equivalent.

This is what I actually like about the Eriksen link. I think it gives us more tactical flexibility. He knows how to play the advanced role in a Conte 3-5-2. This could be a interesting tactical option we simply didn't have last season. Thinking back to the Brighton and Brentford games last season they really dominated us in midfield. I think having the Eriksen option (potentially moving Deki to RWB to accommodate this) would have given us more chance at pinning them back to the edge of their own area and getting us more chances. We actually had no shots on target in either game largely because we simply couldn't get into their final third consistently enough.

You can say we never used the position under Conte, but is that through choice or a lack of options in the current squad?

I think Eriksen gives us a ton of tactical options and is a genuine gamechanger off the bench too.
I don't disagree with any of this. That being said, he's still not a replacement for the Hojbjerg/Bentancur type player, and that's clearly an area that needs improving in my opinion.

It does. I actually think this is an area we will be looking at a bit later in the window, similar to the attacking incoming(s). We will look to move Winks out and then try to get another deep lying CM in. I don't think Eriksen is seen as the CM upgrade, just quality squad depth.

With the cash injection I anticipate we'd be looking at 3 significant transfer fees this summer, first LCB (Bastoni), then ST/WF and finally CM. We probably need to get a few out of the door before we know the final budget for the last two.

I think this is why wrapping up those low cost deals for Perisic and hopefully Eriksen and Spence is so important.

Has there been a decent links to Rashford? seen a few reports that seem to come from the same story
Edit: Not sure where to post this

Tanganga's agent said it which is a bit odd.

Conte is well known to be a fan of Rashford but I cant see it.

Welcome to the revolving door of 2nd keepers that is Tottenham Mr Forster. Just how many have we had since Hugo signed? Good signing though on a free to be fair and quickly done so we can get on with other things

A very decent backup keeper. Not some old-ish lad who's properly lost his mojo (eg Hart, who admittedly I quite liked)
