If there is a end that needs fixing - that's defense. We gave away as many goals as Hull & Burnley. I am happy that we are looking at defensive signings. In attacking end, thanks to Kane, Eriksen & Chadli we have three10+ goals scorers - not many PL club could say that last season.

And if Kane gets injured?

Maybe,just maybe poch isnt that keen on jan and thats why he still wants another defender. I kniw most in here now think ive been on the crack pipe but i dont rate han that highly as he never seems to play with urgency and is too laid back for my liking. He was caught out last season dallying in the box, almost got caught out on other occasions too.

No, because it would simply mean Southampton weren't willing to pay what we were for Toby.
I'd have expected them to tell Liverpool to eff off when trying to sign Clyne after the raping they did last summer!

Mitchell evidently rates Toby, likely had a big hand in SCBC getting him in last season?

On the other hand, perhaps neither he nor Poch rates Clyne? We've not been linked at all, have we? Even by agents using the media. Though Clyne was 20m, or 15m plus to United... hope Trippier is good, cant say I noticed him much last season. Did Chadli do him easily on the outside for Harry's opener in the league game at our place last season?

The post you answered was suggesting that he wanted to sort our attack out first. Your post suggested that our attack was fine and you wanted us to look at defense.
For me the priority is to get backup for kane.

The Euro crisis is relevant.
If their is a further crash in the Euro against the pound it is to our advantage.
In two ways, if we are buying from Europe in Euros any steep decline would be in our favour.
In the same way if we are quoting £ on our sales to European teams we would profit in any slide in the Euro value.
So don't expect many deals to be completed over the next couple of weeks until this currency problem settles.

He did but people seem to forget in form Chadli did in most Right Backs last season. Ivanovic is a great example.

Why would Spurs hedge with the Euro tumbling as it has done in the last few months.
The European teams might have hedged, but doubt that Spurs have.
Especially as they wouldn't have any idea as to how much they are likely to spend in Euros in advance.

Yep..priority is the key word. Priority should be to sort the defense. Then the striker - why ? Coz, we have already got decent front 3 in the XI who proved it last season- unlike our defense from last season

We have 6cb's and one striker (the other 2 might as well be dead). If kane gets injured that is our season over. We have just bought 2 defenders and have 2 very exciting prospects coming through yet you think the priority is to buy more? If we only have £15m and cannot sell any players would you really spend it on a defender rather than striker?

Precisely. Don't know about you, but after holding my breath every time Bale went down to doing the same thing with Kane last season, I'd rather not have our entire season in the balance every time one of our players gets tackled.

Limited point is Kane, Eriksen,Chadli - proven forward players last season
Rose is the only defender who played well. We did not have no1 CB pairing. We chopped & changed most season.So, my priority at start of the summer transfer window was to get good CB pairing & improve defense.

Is this difficult to understand.

Again, I never said lets not buy a striker.

I don't assume anything i am saying we prioritise getting back up for kane. Then if we can sell players etc... we look at other areas that need strengthening.

Anyway this is itk thread lets get back on topic.

Don't really think Witsel fits the profile. I could be wrong though
