to be honest there was still a tiny bit of hope he might turn Chelski down as papaers still have not been finalised, but highly unlikely

I thought he was done and dusted for chelsea?

Que Sera. Still remarkably calm and straight down the middle about it all.

The stuff from GF just underlines what we've heard from various sources tbf. The Willian bit was interesting - Chelski are waiting for a work permit though are they not? Expected to be done on Wednesday.

Paul Coyte (spelling?) on talkshite have just said that the Bale thing is expected to go through in the next 48 hours. Doh!?

Poor Willian, I'm not sure he'll ever mentally recover from having to join Chelsea. Compensation of 150K odd per week isn't really enough to have to go into work and see those shit stains everyday is it. He should've run straight into AVB's open arms for a big hug and never looked back.

tbf - when Grey Fox was passed this info at the game yesterday I guess the Willian stuff was still not confirmed. Plus he was drunk so probably not aware of the news by the time he wrote this this morning

I suggested a few data ago Rooney could be a left field option. London life would appeal to him and his mrs, and whilst in terms of wages we couldn't probably pay what he'd want, I do think making him the centre of attention may appeal to his ego. Regarding fee, I thought there was talk he was valued at £25-30m, meaning that transfer would be £85-90m. Levy usually puts a higher premium on English teams, so they would need to offer more. In reality, I'm not sure it's any more than just a rumour, potentially designed to force Real's hand.
Interesting, and very hopeful on Lamela. Obviously I think him and Bale are intrinsically linked, if we don't get Lamela, we will not sanction Bale leaving.

There's been no ITK on Rooney.

Well Willian signed the papers, but I wouldn't be beyond thinking that there was some serious pressure from all concerned. Don't underestimate the pressure that can be levied onto someone by what are essentially juggernaut corporations. Sure, you try and believe the charm and ignore the niggling doubts... but anyway, Chelsea can act smug if they like, we move on.. let them sit on stupid amounts of midfielders.

I wonder how much goes to his agents for securing these moves. I'm sure he does alright out of it still but the trade off for securing big money moves is servitude to those in complete control of your career.

If we do get Lamela and maybe one or two others, then I think we should drag out the whole Bale saga until the last minute of the window to try and stop Madrid doing any other business which might strengthen our rivals.

If we do end up selling Bale, I know but I live in hope/dreamland, then lets get the most out of it in terms of money and any other advantage that can be got from it

Didn't Willian tweet ''Chelsea my dream come true''...when news broke he was joining chelsea??...

Here

"My dream has come true! I am very happy to be in the best club in the world! Thank you Lord for everything. My dream came true! Im very happy to sign with the best club in the world. Thanks God! COME ON CHELSEA"

That was yesterday morning so not too sure on the Willian stuff from Fox.

I said on the day the Willian (to us) news broke that I'd heard Man Utd were trying to get finance for Bale with RM. I don't think it makes much difference as I can't see us selling to a domestic rival (feels good to say that about Utd after all these years) or that Bale would go because I think his heart is set on RM.

I'm still really disappointed Bale has seemingly pushed for the move and not given us 1 more year, I think it would be best for him and us and makes no difference to RM apart from Perez losing face!

We still need a creative player and I'm not sure Lamella is it (winger) or Ericsson. We need someone to unpick a defence when teams put 10 behind the ball at WHL

Can't believe people are slating Rooney. One of the best players in the league. Would love a player of his calibre at Spurs. A Rooney performing at his highest level is up there with Ronaldo and Messi.
