Not arguing. I thought we didn't need toby with dier and verts. Wrong i was.

It's hard because we don't know how Lucas will turn out also but I personally think we need another special and dangerous player up there who the opposition are going to be worried about regardless. After that then I think our forward positions are pretty much sorted. As talented a set of attacking players we may already have, there is no way that currently I think we can't and shouldn't improve on it, not yet.

Do we just want something new? Lamela, moura, son, eriksen were just as highly rated as martial (at the same age) was when he joined utd.
I think most people want something new because it's become clear that our current players, as much as we love them, have taken us as far as they can and improvement/investment is needed to take the next step.

Personally I don't want just anyone, I want a Martial or someone even better, who I believe would help improve the team or at least give us another option.

We will sign a WF or a 2nd striker, especially given we are actively looking to sell Llorente as well. So, despite HY saying this, I am confident we will be in the market for a good WF or 2nd striker

Probably better to continue in the martial thread, but is he the next step? Is he that much better than what we've got? If it was bale i'd be behind it.

Hertyid:

Seems pretty clear Utd won’t budge and now we’ve given Lamela a new contract I’d be very surprised if we signed another AM WF.

Lamela was always going to get a contract as it was down to 1/2 yrs?. Needed to protect his fee

Personally i'm a lot less worried about attacking players, where i think we need to really focus is on midfield. Look at the world cup as an example - without a world class holding midfielder you're going to struggle to be effective. I'm not sure Dembele has the legs and Wanyama wasn't on point last season. Attacking wise we have: Son, Lamela, Alli, Eriksen and Moura to fill 2/3 spaces in the team.

Yeah I wouldn't argue that it's more of a concern to be fair. Thing is I think we need a couple of fresh central midfielders but at this rate we'll be lucky to get just the one. Should that one get injured we're back to where we were last season.

i dont know if its already been mentioned but quite a few media outlets have said demblele from barca is leaving now that malcom has joined so any chance it could be him?
Think there's more chance of me signing for Spurs than Dembele. He signed for over £100m barely 12 months ago.

Expect nothing but still let down, thanks for the abundance of ITK recently. Looking forward for the highs and lows of next 2 weeks.

This is one I’d believe when I see haha, wages would be astronomical for a start, bidding will probably start at about 70m also

JJ on Zaha
“Unlikely, but you never know”

JJ on transfers
“What Poch said is what’s happening nothing more to say”

The latter is relating to these Poch quotes I believe.

Be sure that we are going to do some movement but like always, we’re working hard. No rash decisions. I’m not worried

Doesn't fill me with much confidence to be fair. Worried that 'no rash decisions' easily turns into 'no value in the market right now' in two weeks time.

With some big clubs shopping in the same places as us it seems like the time for Levy to be a bit ruthless to ensure Poch gets what he needs...
