I do fully understand what he's saying though. Conte is a manager who will want to challenge for the title. Getting 2 top quality attackers like Richarlison and Raphina pushes on that much more than just 1 of them. We should be the big spenders in this window and we certainly can afford to be.

Appreciate the info but respectfully we gotta take this with a slab of salt, Val absolutely loves getting excited and talking like this but this is one of those posts which doesn't have any specifics to it and then we can all hear this and let our imaginations run wild and I'm hoping as much as anybody that all our dreams come true and we're leaving Pep with Haaland and Klopp in the mud but Val has spoken like this a lot over the years and people think we're gonna go insane and when it doesn't come to fruition it turns a bit sour so I think let's wait and see before we think we're about to drop 120 mill on the Raphina/Richarlison combo.

To be fair, we do need to see a case of this before we believe it.

We've made a fantastic start to the window and everything he said is true but until you see something in stone there will always be doubts to some extent.

Yeah I hope the admins take my post as it was intended but ultimately it's up to them how they perceive it. Unfortunately I've been cursed with a long memory and I think exactly what you said, let's just limit it to hopeful optimism and not lose our shit when we aim for 1 winger and then a pragmatic choice for rotation for Kane for example.

I guess he was hoping what happened this summer was on the cards last. Seems it was part of the plan to get the facilities in order and then push the boat out on the pitch. We'll be the richest club in London in terms of turnover going forward (until Chelsea build a new stadium).

Agreed on needing to see more before we can believe though.

Can't see Sanchez leaving but surely below is realistic?


- CCV 8m
- Bergwijn 22m
- Winks 20m
- Rodon 10m
- Emerson 15m
- Reguilon 25m
- Lo Celso 18m
- Ndombele (packet of crisps)

Works out just under 120m.

Then also potentially swap either of those with :

- Lucas 20m
- Sanchez 20m
- Loan fee for Gil or potentially even sell him for 20-25m with a fat sell on or buy back.
- Tanganga 15m


I think we could generate 100m fairly easily tbh. A lot of those players are half decent.

There's no way we're letting Emerson go for £15m. We bought him last year for €30m, can't see him going for less than £25m this window.

Lo Celso is similar, he won't leave for less than £25m either IMO.

So that £120m looks more like £150m in reality if we shift those players.

I'm with Valenciayid in that you don't put the investment into the infrastructure we have over the last decade not to match it on playing side. We will be doing things differently and we will spend big money on the right players, we are going to want to challenge at the top.
That said the club ain't going to start chucking silly money around like there's no tomorrow, they'll still steer a steady course but always aiming upwards.

it’s inevitable that personal opinion will skew any ITK. Val gets a piece of info i.e. he hears we are interested in both Richarlison and Raphinha and takes that literally while Dragon1 may hear that same information and report “nothing is close”. Personally I like how Trix views things. More aligned to my temperament. Cautious, realism.

But if we are thinking like champions then that would suggest we could get Richarlison and Raphinha, although ITK has somewhat suggest it would be an either/or.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. ? ?

I’d like to think one of them could be sorted very quickly (so yes an either/or scenario intially), but then depending on further outgoings maybe we could get the second deeper into the window.
Five forward options from Kane, Son, Kulu, Raphinha and Richarlison, when we play 3 up top, that’s probably about the right depth, and there’d be more than enough minutes to go round if we aim to be successful in multiple competitions. We have 5 now, but Moura & Bergwijn in place of the latter two, perhaps it’s Conte’s unease with the drop off in calibre that sees them get less minutes.
