People comparing this transfer window to Martinez's last year. Yes Everton had a great window but i seem to recall that McCarthy, Lukaku and Barry were all signed on deadline day! Not time to panic just yet ....

There's still two weeks left in this window and everyone is losing their shit like we are in a relegation fight!! We signed 7 players last year that we haven't seen the best of,clichéd but they can be like new signings this year with the training by a really highly regarded coach.

So, man the fuck up, it's not the end of the world that we MIGHT miss out on two players.

Hmm, yes we did buy a lot of players didn't we, but managed to somehow miss an LB entirely (again).

Again, sort of the point I was making.

And for it's worth, I think dumping a load of money on a stadium represents more of a risk of doing a 'Leeds'. The football needs to be successful enough to fill it.

Come on, we're still going to be competitve but probably not push on until after the stadium is completed. We've got a 30K season ticket waiting list so I don't think we will have any problem filling it.

The Goat's info doesn't rule it out either. He's been told that Schneiderlin has 'accepted' the situation, that doesn't mean he's happy with it or that a deal will not happen, just that he'll get his head down and play, which would seem to be accurate as he was picked in their first game of the season. It wouldn't surprise me either way on this one.

But deep down, i'm expecting another Moutinho moment. Expectation, we tried, we tried hard, wasn't our fault, sorry Poch, here, have Carlton Palmer instead.

But, but Carlton Palmer is 48:confused:

Some of you need to get a grip. Should we only go for targets that we can definitely get then ? Or should the club try as hard as is feasible* (*note to the "just fucking pay them Levy" brigade) to get the players we want, and then look at plan B etc. The ones of you moaning would just as quickly moan if we were signing players that are deemed not good enough.

Unfortunately, we dont have the cash to engage in a dick waving contest, so we have to be smart with our dealings, its not a difficult concept to understand

Why don't we put some of the money from 1 of the signings and put it into the other signing to at least get 1 over the line?

Or am I being stupid

Cant recall many people saying that we wouldnt survive without Mateo Musacchio at the beginning of the transfer window.

No but we all said we need a new CB as Kaboul is struggling to stay fit, Dawson has got slower and Vlad is potentially one for the future. We need a quality 1st XI CB next to Verts.

Seriously, you have to be borderline masochistic to be supporting Spurs. Like havin a bird who always promises you'll get to first base, and always cockteasing you to be interested...but eventually always letting you down by telling you "she's not ready yet"

While at the same time your best mates to the left and right of you telling you about all the great positions they've practicsed with their bird...

well its too late now. No business gets done in the last 12 days of a transfer window.

Fazio looks decent albeit with some injury problems. Very good average ratings for Seville on whoscored last year (7.37 in 27 league games and 7.59 in 10 European games). Whoscored's assessment of players is usually pretty good and that would make him along the best central defenders in the Spanish league last year (Musacchio averaged 7.25 in 31 games). I would prefer Musacchio as he is a bit younger (24 rather than 27) but if that transfer is dead due to the third party issues Fazio seems like a sensible alternative.

I'd agree.. weclearly have a profile for the sort of player we can get.. contract running down, a younger player or a bit of a punt. We also have a profile we seem to be very unsuccessful with, 3rd party owned meaning we need to stump up extra cash as is the way of such things..the kind of logjams our competitors can chuck money at but we can't.

At the same time I'm not advocating we don't show ambition and go for players like MM, but if we do, we have to be willing to accept the situation and pay the premium for 3rd party ownership, or not waste time and move on.

I certainly think we'll see him start more games than previously thought - particularly if Kaboul doesn't rediscover his best form and Dawson isn't in our plans. If his good enough his old enough in my view. I like Vlad so it's not the end of the world if we don't sign an upgrade at cb (and I mean a first 11 starter not a similar level to current) and stick.

I think were at a point with the squad where we need only first 11 additions. We have good depth but a lack of real top quality to support our 3 class players in Lloris, Verts and Eriksen (Lamela isn't there yet imo). It should be a case of add real quality or sit and wait until it becomes available.

Sit and wait? Fack that. For mm we are seemingly unopposed. Pay the premium, back our own judgement, before bigger spending/more attractive competitors scent an opportunity.

Hahaha! You don't believe that. We don't fill our ground as it is besides 4 games a season tops.
