Can some on here stop having a hissy ffs.

We just spent 65m and we are not finished according to ITK, now if you don't believe that, then you shouldn't be in this thread punishing yourself...
It's not that people don't believe the ITK's, love and respect to all of you, it's just that anyone with a brain knows that things in football can change so quickly, and we are Spurs after all, we've seen it happen before. Therefore I think it's understandable why some fans may have some doubt about us getting the deals over the line.

However personally, I'm still optimistic that we will get GLC and Sess.

ghostofarmo: bit of itk
Want debala / celso
No money left to buy unless we sell first..

dragon1: Ghost don’t mean to shit on your parade but in the case of celso it’s incorrect , we made a substantial offer , player wants to come , betis bring greedy
ghostofarmo: To get dybala dragon we need to sell ..that’s the idea
Good work, Dov. Thanks

So the situation is exactly as felt by many. The dream is Lo Celso and Dybala but we may need to sell (Eriksen presumably). Hopefully Betis realise time is running out and lower the fee but not before too long otherwise it'll make for a real worrying final week.

If we're serious about Dybala I expect to see other players linked with moves away too.

Ndombele was the one we absolutely had to sign and we did. Herc has stated numerous times glc is on the hook and we’re clearly exploring further options. Every itk is currently positive and jj is quiet which is always a good sign. It’s always quiet after/during tournaments plus players on holiday etc so no surprise we’re not dropping £60m a week every week. Bed should certainly not be wet as things stand ffs.

Nothing positive about any of that ITK, it's all 'if's' and 'maybe's' ...

Nothing has changed.

Edit: 'that' rather than 'the'

Edit2: I wanted to add, the least positive of all of this is the idea that 'could' be something by the end of next week ...

That's a little tough to contemplate/understand considering.

This is becoming thoroughly frustrating.

If Betis is to "greedy" then move targets and let em sit with him and Fekir, who their coach said they can't afford, instead of putting the blame on Betis...

Always someone elses fault

Fair enough, but the club feels like its changing , DL will back Poch imo, not just because he fears Poch would walk, but i feel he has seen what CL finals do for a club both financially and prestige wise. Levy will know that the stadium and the sponsors, plus Poch and the fans, will not accept going backwards now we have had a taste, and he knows that will hurt his pocket in the long run, and btw i do believe he actually wants to win things, but has done things the right way round.imo

Here’s where I have a problem: we’ve only spent 70m or so this summer but have run out of money?? Come on, even arsenal are finding a way to buy targets with their tiny budget. Even with the stadium costs, I simply cannot comprehend how we don’t have enough money for at least one more big money signing. Frustrating.

But your guessing running out of money is for transfer fees, but could be about wages?
We might need to sell to free up more for wages.

Literally nothing is indicating we’ve run out of money.
Just that we don’t have another £170m or so to splash on players without any more outgoing.

Think a lot of it is to do with the history we have in transfer windows and how this is starting to feel all so familiar. Given Daniel Levy’s history in transfer windows it’s hard to trust that we will get the deals we have been linked with over the line. He talked the talk this week about money being there now to strengthen the playing staff but the noise coming from today’s ITK doesn’t seem to reflect this.

Also the fact there is still a lot of work to be done on our squad! Given how we finished the last 4/5 months of the season in the league. Ndombele was a great signing but we need more than just him.

Its amazing how quick it can all go from looking up to looking down isnt it? Im trying hard to remain positive and wait and see but its all just pointing towards another typical window. Ndombele was a fantastic addition, no doubt, but we need more. The cynic in me thinks the Dybala stuff is all just a bluff to keep us interested and detract from the fact that the close of the window is swiftly approaching and for all intents and purposes we're hitting the same old roadblocks as before. Fingers crossed im very much wrong but its all got rather stale and familiar.

Edit: Reading this back it sounds very doom and gloom which wasnt the intention. Im still positive and will remain so, but i can certainly appreciate feeling otherwise.

It does seem the news is being manipulated into a rollercoaster even more than normal. Seeing has how we have committed to approximately £55m plus bonuses for Ndombele, but have the Trippier and Dembele money as we as a small amount for Janssen, buying Lo Celso and Sessegnon is not going to stretch us. We seemed to be being set up for a Dybala versus Eriksen/Rose trade-off. Separate issue for me and shouldn’t be allowed to slow down existing business.

I don't understand what has changed.

Lo Celso is being targeted regardless of Eriksen & player is willing to come, is in vacation. And we know Betis have to sell. And we have the money for the deal.

Dybala - We were never going to buy him without selling Eriksen. IMO this is obvious. Anyone dreaming we will splash the cash without selling Eriksen are fooling themselves.

Sessegnon - This probably hangs in balance because of Rose situation. If Rose gets a buyer matching our valuation, he will be sold & I believe we will get Sess in. Regardless , Sess is recovering from a hamstring injury.

I agree

But i don't believe this is it.

I don't want to bore you with our recent history, but DL has built this club the right way, and has got us in this position the right way.

So maybe thats why we haven't got the players we all wanted in past windows, lets judge him now we have the stadium and all the money from AIA, Nike , Stadium sponsor NFL etc.....all roads lead to these days where we can buy the likes of Ndombele

Lets have fauth

Can everyone just calm down? The window isn’t over, yes it’s starting to sound like previous windows except for the glaringly obvious difference that we’ve already signed on of the best CM prospects in Europe already, with enough to suggest we will still sign Lo Celso and Sessegnon.

Betis have signed fekir and must sell. Lo Celso wouldn’t have joined pre season due to Copa America, Sessegnon has an injury and wouldn’t have joined either, therefore no rush. Why wouldn’t we try to negotiate them down. The saving on Ndombele and Lo Celso pretty much buy Sessegnon who we wanted a year ago for double the price.

The information that we’d need to sell to buy Dybala shouldn’t shock anyone. Still think at the end of the window we will all be satisfied

There are fans, like yourself, who have the ability to apply common sense to all the rumours and transfer ins/outs. To evaluate all the things that are going on and come to rational conclusions. To those fans, it all seems fairly obvious as to why things are or aren't happening just yet and what the likely outcome will be when the window closes.

Unfortunately these fans are very much in the minority on here judging by todays posts !

Despite all the positive ITK sounds like Levy is reverting to type, so far we have had a net spent of 40m this year (TN in, JC in, MD out, KT out) GLC in will take that up to 90m. So according to Ghostfarmo if we want Sessignon and Dybala we have to sell to balance the books. 90m net spend over a 2 year period for a club of our stature is ridiculous, Villa have spent 125m this year, West Ham 100m last year and 75m this year, how can these clubs do this but we can't having qualified for the CL 4 years running and just announcing an massive sponsorship deal.
Ambition off the field but not on it.
