Welp. We are going to have some serious problems at LB next year again. Rose is the best LB in the league and so crucial to our play. We are so much better with pacey full backs. And i dont trust replacing him with Sessegnon. If we buy him, I feel he would probably be better off being loaned back rather than being thrown into the fire with a team contending for the PL title.

Not that I have any idea what, if anything, today’s swarm of itk indicates, but 2 points to consider:

  1. we have never amassed more points or scored more goals/ had a better goal difference than in the 1.5 seasons Davies has spent at left back. This with everything to his right bar Vertonghen having changed, and him having created more goals than any other fullback in our modern history.
  2. The last three highly rated lower league teenagers we signed and threw in at the deep end both instantly, and dramatically, improved the first team. I give you messrs Lennon, Ali and Bale.
If VY and Trix are spot on, which they probably are, about Rose, and Herc is right about Sessegnon, I have full faith that it will be great and I base this on a mix of history, optimism and insanity.

Ooh, @igijedi getting involved again. Hopefully another contract.

If it turned out to be Poch after The Sun/Talkshite's campaign today it would be epic!!

One thing I'd be interested in (I don't know if this has been discussed before) is whether the club ever significantly delays announcements on signings, contracts etc. Fair enough all the legal stuff has to be signed and so on, but if we're making multiple signings/contracts in a short space of time would they be announced immediately or could the club stagger them to maximise exposure?

thanks @igijedi , i was doing very little work today anyway, now i am doing none at all!

Would love it to be Poch signing a new deal...Chelsea put the pressure on but came up short again!

If Igi's post turns out to be a poch contract the media will spin it yet again.

"Levy gives in to Poch's demands and hands over new deal after Chelsea's advances for the Argentinian"

I’m almost certain that Herc himself mentioned a loan back of Sessegnon yesterday...

Combined with Trix info, iggies must be unrelated to these two as can’t possibly be anything but good.

With iggy it’s always new signing or new contract.
Unless the good news is Poch getting what he was quoted as wanting - The players leaving to be done swiftly...

Though, i know that is a bit if a stretch for 'good' news

I don't think anyone in their right mind could expect it to be Sessegnon. The kid is in the playoff final even if a deal was already done announcing it today would do nobody any favours at all.

Good news if it is deadwood for decent money.

Could well be the new kit I suppose, hopefully it's another new deal though and we'll find out soon!

@igijedi isnt stupid, he wouldn’t post something like that if it wasn’t something the vast majority would accept as good news, and if it wasn’t imminent. He knows what a bunch of muppets we are and how volatile reactions tend to be in here if people don’t get what they want.
