After India and China, Brazil are tipped to be the next big thing. Huge growth in the middle classes. Also Premiership football is meant to be catching up Spanish football in popularity out there, with our links to Inter I think this will be a great market for us.

Not really, I doubt many Premier League shirts are sold in Brazil when you consider that their league if not particularly strong, has a big tradition across the country with huge support for the biggest clubs, and taking into account the economic situation it's not a big market for Prem clubs.

Foreign shirts sell very well in Brazil.

Not sure what you mean by economic situation though, sure there are some really poor areas still, but Brazil has the 8th highest GDP in the world and is one of the fastest growing.

Approx. 1% of Brazil owns around 90% of the money in the country, which means that there are around 2 million really, really, really rich people.

If you can get 5% of them and then 0.1% of the remaining population to buy Spurs shirts this season, then that's 300,000 shirts sold, at presumably a profit of something like £5m.

Replicate this at varying levels across another 5 or 10 as yet untapped markets worldwide and all of a sudden our revenue jumps by £30/40m.

Plus there are a lot of Brazilians in London, if it helps to increase our fan base in the capital, especially in light of a new stadium, then there are many, purely economical, benefits to increasing our footballing presence in Brazil.

I don't really want to make this a political/economic thread, but true middle class growth is very slow still.

Upper class growth is at all time record highs though, along with increased conditions and life styles for the lower class

Bassong or Dawson are injured and King has played on Saturday. Who would you rather face Real Madrid Walker or Gallas? Yes we have got Kaboul aswell and I am all for bringing Walker through but we do need another CB at the mo.

We should look to bring Walker through, who IMO isn't far off Lescott's quality at the moment. However Gallas is a different level of player to either of these two. The guy might be a ****, but he has experience at the right level that will help us this season.

Its funny this thread. I read it at these ridicoulos hours of the mornings and go through many of the posts.

Yesterday everyone seemed convinced Remy would be tied up, cue the various formation posts, stats, how he'll fit in etc.. Today its Fabiano - are we going to end up with either player realistically?

Who will flavour of the day be tommorow I wonder? Hmm.

Apparently by the end of this week our strikers will be Fabiano, Remy, KJH, and Crouch...

Walker has a better head on his shoulders and I personally would put my trust in that kid at any point. He's cooler than the other side of the pillow under pressure
