The past two days have seen a deluge of ITK which slowed down to a trickle yesterday so there isn't much to report really.....

Early on Scutch found this......
The main Villa ITK, General Krulak (Randy Lerner's right hand man) : Ashley Young is not for sale.
General Krulak  More on him later............

Then plenty to mull over when RT gave us chapter and verse.......
Date 10th August
Site Spurs Community

Craig Bellamy : I'll start here because its all over the press now anyway. Harry really wants Bellamy and Bellamy does want to come to Spurs, But Man City are doing an awful lot of ignoring Tottenham at the moment. I think he is available for loan to pretty much everyone, bar us. In fact from what Harry has been told by Bellamy's people, Citeh are even prepared to subsidise his wages. As it stands any deals with Citeh are highly unlikely to be done before 31st August if at all. Might be he ends up somewhere like Bolton or Everton.

Micah Richards : we agreed everything with club and player in principle a long time ago, but deal was put on hold. And as above the case is now, Man Citeh not really playing ball with us. He is likely to get into the 25 man squad there though, with players like Onouha more likely to leave. This might have to wait until next year I think.

Gallas : Its true!!! to an extent, anyway. We have had conversations regarding money and it might be that is as far as it goes. Harry likes him though.

Crouch : Player has the full support of everyone at the club. He is not available for transfer, unless someone offers silly money. But that is the case with pretty much everyone. Harry did give him a bollocking mind!

Falcao : I started this one.....and I'm ending this one. Unless harry is playing his cards close to his chest, which is not unheard of. This is old news. Sorry everyone

Cardozo : We have watched him and Harry does like him, but we are far apart on our valuation, so this one hasnt really gone any further than the sounding out stage.

Hunterlaar : We are told that he could be available, for a loan ----> permanent deal. but there are hurdles to cross on this and for the time being we have hit a stalemate. Harry does like him a lot, but at the moment we havnt really got the room for him anyway. I think we would need to sell at least one of the 2 strikers that divide us all. Keano or Pav!

Luis Fabiano : This is the Deal that everyone is trying to do. Its the hardest of the lot finacially but we are trying. Harry thinks its going to be really tough though. I think we are prepared to offer some serious money on this as long as the player shows enough willing to play for us. Even then it depends an awful lot on player sales and a sensible wage.

Others : Looks like we have turned away from deals for Remy (unless Nice accept an installment plan based on appearances and performance). Camoranesi, was offered to us and we did look at it. but not likely now.

Thats your lot folks... sorry there isnt anything on Young or Turan or anyone else....but I get what I get.

Cheers again and Coys!
Plenty in there to digest. And it isn't good IMO.

This makes the cut because it tallies with RT's info..........
An introduction and very first post from NW6 Spurs over on COYS :
My friend has just told me that he spoke to a football agent who has told him we are in talks with Gallas
could be nonsense I really don't know, friend has never told me any inside info before so I presume at the very least that hes telling the truth about what the football agent said - whether the agent was talking bollocks or not I dont know
Agents almost always talk bollocks but at least we know the question has been asked of Gallas, wether anything comes of it is another matter.........

Scutch brought us one word from POTL
Phantom of the Lane regarding Crouch to Liverpool : Squashed
Squashed means over, finito, not on.

Gilly Me Silly then pretended to be ITK and paid the price.
GillymeSilly has earnt himself a ban from this forum for this window.
What a Silly Gilly

And that was all. A slow day for ITK.

Today in the papers.......

The Telegraph say that.....
Tottenham are looking to sign former Arsenal defender William Gallas. The 33-year-old France international is a free agent after being released by the Gunners at the end of last season.
But the Mail say....
However, Gallas's demand for a two-year deal could scupper any attempt to join the White Hart Lane outfit.
The Sun tell us that Scott Parker is signing a new deal........
And Hammers midfielder Scott Parker is to end speculation about a possible move to Tottenham or Liverpool by signing a new four-year deal this week.
I thought he hadn't long signed a new deal? Is this a new, new deal?
Then The Mirror gave me some info that I really never knew.......

Aston Villa board member General Charles C Krulak, a friend of chairman Randy Lerner, has hit out at former manager Martin O'Neill for thinking he was bigger than the club. O'Neill made a shock exit from Villa Park on Monday.
Fuck me, it's his real name! And he's really a General! A US Marine, I never knew........Seems he served in 'nam at the same time I did.

Chelte'nam that is.........:)

I wonder if he talks like that drill instructor in Full Metal Jacket? That would make the board meetings fun.

Until tomorrow ITK-lings.........

Love it. General Krulak. He even has a fairly substantial wikipedia page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_C._Krulak

It includes the snippet 'Following the takeover of English Football Club Aston Villa by MBNA Chairman Randy Lerner in August 2006 and as of September 19, 2006, General Krulak joined the Board of Aston Villa as non-executive director, where he quickly earned the approval of the fans by taking the time to post on various Aston Villa messageboards. Krulak is generally referred to as "The General" by fans on these boards.'

nwyiddo on SO (I'm shortening his post, but the gist is he was invited to the Italy - Ivory Coast game last night) :

I managed to get a bit of info from the people I was with. Obviously after the night they organized and the people they knew I have full faith in them.

Ozil- Asked them whats going on because I heard we were interested. They say its an absolute frenzy for him. there are so many clubs in it that no one knows who has the upper hand. Levy is trying double time for this. Everything about him is a Levy signing.

Dzeko- Most of the big boys are after him, we are having a tough time competing but we are trying.

Rossi- They think he was being looked at.

Some Man city news to make you smile- (This obviously isn;t from any players directly) They say Kolo is p*ssed that Yaya is making so much more than him. Its causing problems and apparently City's dressing room morale is no bueno. Guess pay parity is going to bit them in the ass.

Hopefully Balotelli can come and make it worse.

His latest quotes have also made the newspapers this morning. Hopefully Randy will be pleased.

I also laughed - quite hard, I may add - at Chelte'nam.

I'm glad we're looking at the likes of Dzeko and Ozil. The chances of us getting them are slim as I suspect many of the big clubs in Europe are looking to snap them up but you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket and it's worked before with Modric.

That info, together with what Ryan said yesterday about Fabiano, rather flies in the face of the 'lack of ambition' crew.

I just hope that we're also pursuing other targets so that if the big guns fall through we'll still have someone to come in.

Ashley Young would be a great addition, but his assists at Villa (of which he's had a few over the last 3 years) have been due to someone like John Carew being on the end of his balls. Sorry - crosses... ahem.

I don't think we have anyone like that.

Dzeko would be the one, for that situation. Like you say though, I think it's highly unlikely, but at least we seem to be aiming high.

Fabiano is more likely than Dzeko imo. With only 1 year on his contract, he could cost half what Dzeko would. With Huntelaar possibly weighed up for late in the window should we not get either.

It very much sounds as if we are waiting on transfers at the moment for whatever reason.

Personally I think we're waiting to see if we get a result over in the Wankdorf and if we do, then that will give us that little bit extra pulling power both in terms of prestige and money.

Cheers for the round up A&C.

Quality whoring Scutch. I personally thought our interest in Oezil and Dzeko were dead in the water!..........according to this I may have been slighlty premature in my thinking. I'm sure it is only a faint possibility that we might sign one of them, but it keeps hope alive!

If in-fighting at Citeh about wages is bad now, then Balotelli is gonna get shanked on the first day be the looks of things!!!!!

So finally Pletikosa comes through the door... at least it's something.

Oh, and just a little reminder that Gallas is a **** in case ppl are starting to warm to that idea.

The Norwegian press is adament that we're going after Brede Hangeland if we don't get Gallas. Is there any truth in this?

I wonder if Harry and Levy are alligned in their approach or whether Harry would rather get some deals done now for our fall back options but Levy is still holding out for that "special" signing and won't go to plan B until he is sure he has failed with plan A.

I'm not sure i know i would know which route to choose.

although, did someone not once say, "it is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low"...

Surely it should be the other way round then

Go for the better player first, and then work your way down. I honestly see Gallas as a desperation move. I would rather see Huddlestone or Sandro cover at centre back than Gallas.

Yea I hope so too, but there's no actual ITK to back this up then?

I'd rather go for Hangeland right now tbh. Sure he'd cost £10m and Gallas would be free and Galles is more physically powerful but Hangeland's a much more intelligent player and a nicer guy as well.
