Yes that makes sense bu wouldn't have thought we could meet his wage demands.
I think they mean he was discounted as an option before his monetary requirements were even discussed.
But you're right, He would never of come to us anyway.

Just as we were unreasonable with Kane last summer when we all know we should have let city have him for £50 mill
Lol...no way.. that would have been day light robbery..... his marketing worth to the team is beyond that alone...never mind his goals.

Don’t get the negativity towards Richarlison. Does so much well and covers 3 roles. Could become a proper player and massively improves the squad. He has a great work ethic and as for diving: pretty much every forward in the league does.

Big yes from me.

I've got to admit that the figures I've seen mentioned for Spence and Richarlison seemed pretty reasonable so I'm not too surprised if both teams are hanging on for more money.

Steep! It's effing vertical!!

He's not my favourite martian that's for damned sure; if Conte is wanting it then I'll trust it...

It's a lot, but they paid a lot when they bought him (£35m rising to £50m) and they're going to want to make a profit on him so it's an understandable valuation. It's up to the club if they think he's worth it.

Perisic (who I was banging on about when he played in the U-21's for his country) and Forster are both quality additions. Both were on free's, so we may well have been discussing this move for the past 6 months - only condition likely that we got CL. No surprise they were able to be done early.

Glad they are done. They will both be upgrades and improve the options/competition in the squad.

As for the rest, as every year, we are linked with lots of great players. Some may come to be. Most will not get anywhere near the line (no matter how many times "sources" say it is almost done).

Let's just agree now to skip the "sky is falling" slating of Levy, Paratici and Conte when all of our hopes do not come to fruition.

Eriksen, as rumoured, would be another free - certainly an option/competition. Quality player to be sure. As would Bale, for that matter. Does anyone remember how Eriksen played for the last few years under Pochettino? If not, go back and read any of the forums boards. Would not defend, gave the ball away cheaply and did not score a free kick in the PL from January 2016 to the last game of the 18/19 season. He took them all. That is pretty much where we are right now. No one who can, at a minimum, miss the wall and make the keeper work. If he comes, I do not see him being a regular PL starter in the middle. Bentancur, Skipp, Hojberg all have far better engines and are better defenders. He will also not likely displace Son or Kulu. He would be an option. I hope he comes because he would be another experienced role player. He and Perisic should be able to impart some of their winning attitude to the balance of the squad. He will get playing time so long as we remain in cup competitions.

Spence has tons of potential and is very much a Levy type purchase. Upside, and highly unlikely to ever lose value. The hope will be, that he settles in and plays many years for Spurs. Very hopeful that will happen. Looks streets better than Aarons who many wanted us to pry from Norwich. I can see that getting done.

Bastoni, like Skriniar, and most in Seria A, are comfortable in Italy. They have it good there. It's just a different world. Last year Skriniar did not want to leave Italy. Nor did Dybala - Bastoni clearly does not want to leave either. So down the list we go.

It all takes time and as Herc's posts reiterate, there may well be discussions ongoing. Until offers are made, it is just talk. There is interest.

CCV and Gollini have gone. One has been replaced with homegrown - that's good. The homegrown issue will have to be resolved. Lo Celso, Ndombele need to be shifted, but they were not part of the numbers at the end of last year - that became Bentancur and Kulu. So if Winks goes (and he most certainly does need to go), who replaces him?

There are so many considerations . PL list, CL list, mix of player personalities, versatility of players etc. It is never as easy as fantasy football.

LCB, CCB, LWB, RWB and ideally a Kane backup who can also play across the top are where the names all seem to be pointing. That's good news. The priorities are where they should be.

Many names being considered on here. Many would likely be improvements. All need to be taken in to account with the lists, salary structure etc. Some deals will go down to the deadline, as every year. People will moan that it took that long. Just how it is. I assure you, Levy, Paratici and Conte would all love to have the 2022/2023 squad set today.

For me, if we can get in Spence, sell Lo Celso and extend Kane, all in the next week or so, we will have a very strong platform (and lots of money) from which to build further.

Richarlison intrigues/worries me the most. He will score goals wherever he plays. He and Conte are both very fiery. Either the relationship brings out the best in both and Richarlison toes the line, or it could be a huge source of friction. If it works, I expect Winks goes the other way. We get a game breaker for the next 5 years or more. And one less homegrown.

I am very optimistic for the coming season. Right coach and significant additions over the past year. I have faith in Levy, Paratici and Conte.

More you climb up the table, the harder it is. They'll get it done. Just won't likely be all the names we want.

It surprises me that the bigger spending clubs don't do more of this. I mean there's a tonne of evidence that sauna usage, especially when combined with cold/ice baths and breathing techniques can be more effective at building cardio strength than any physical exercise, so you would imagine all clubs would be massively into this - high cardio with non physical strain would result in a lot less injuries. However whilst cold/ice baths are a thing, as is the cold room thing, it doesn't seem to be used in conjunction with saunas for cardio purposes from what i've seen. ...
Sauna + ice baths -> increased cardi strength? I've never heard this, sounds interesting. what do you mean by cardio strength? aeorbic endurance? anaerobic endurance? can you link to research literature? thx

I genuinely think Conte could turn him into a monster.

He pretty much singlehandedly saved Everton from relegation.
He contributed massively at the end but if anyone single handed kept Everton up it was Anthony Gordon. He was giving it 100%+ for months before Richarleson really got his arse into gear and made a difference. That's the kind of thing that concerns me about him, attitude.
