So I read that as we (we all know who) wont take lower fees for players we want to move on and have been/are struggling to sell. Well colour me shocked!

Fully expect a hugely disappointing end to the window. I never thought we would sell Kane and just do nothing with it.

If the alternatives to Orban are better and/or more experienced players (hence the higher price) then I’d be more inclined to look to that anyway. I think we need to mitigate risk as far as possible for our strike force is concerned and we have Veliz as a young’un to come in once he’s settled.
Same here but we know how it ends if we don't go for Orban at 30m we have very little chance of Levy spending more on different players even if they are better quality.
If we have any budget set aside wouldn't suprise me if 30m is the amount.

i'm not sure that I understand the Orban situation, wouldn't he be classed as U21 and therefore wouldn't impact the squad? Also His wages wouldn't be that big that we wouldn't be able to absorb, after all with Kane going and Lloris off that's a big chunk off the wages bill.
We surely should still be able to sign him before we offload.

I understand the hesitation when Ange wants another CB and we have several still on the books that we need to shift but surely and overcrowding in the CB area should not impact the potential Striker reinforcement that we need.

I also read WLB info to mean that we are serious and intend to proceed with this. I just don't understand the requiement for the delay.

Unless! Levy has tied this all up and just awaiting the right time to announce it.....like to hide the 3rd kit launch (which if it really is the poo brown kit I totally understand)

If we can't sell them then just get them out on loan and work on moves for them in the January window.

If we were to get this guy and Laporte in I would consider it a good window.

We've just got this thread re-opened and some itk, let's not clutter it up with posts complaining about the info and get it locked again please.
I get that there's a fine line between what actually counts as itk discussion and what doesn't but recent experience would suggest that we should err on the side of caution. 👍

edit. And moaning about Levy WILL get this thread locked again because there's a whole thread dedicated to that and it infects all the other threads too. It's not for here, no matter how frustrating things may be/seem.

I did. That’s why we did business before we sold Kane. It was all too convenient and out of character for our club. Never expected him to suitably replace him once he was gone, it’s just not how we operate.

Levy is a parasite.
Take any tedious Levy comments to another thread FFS. Its exhausting.

Thanks for the ITK WLB. Some concerns but clearly we are trying to bring in another quality attacking player - Orban or AN Other.
Lets hope we can back down on price for some of the outs. Problem is as we have seen - some players don't want the destinations on offer and we can't force them to move.

Every year we hear a new spin on the ‘Levy will take a step back’ lie, and every year it lasts a few weeks and then boom, Levy is back to his old ways - low balling other clubs, squeezing every penny whilst refusing to take a hit on players we have been screaming to move on for year. We are stuck in a never ending of needing to shift players before we can buy, but not being realistic with our valuations

A leopard never changes it’s spots

It's ridiculous. This is the thread for ITK, then comes ITK, followed by an F5 tornado of whinging and crying. No wonder we can't have nice things. Unbelievable.

Regarding the first sentence I completely agree. We either have to accept that the players' valuations are at a low ebb and take the current market price, or else loan them out in the hopes that they find better form and increase their value.

The only alternative is to keep them around the club where they won't play, may make life difficult for Ange (as happened to Chelsea's managers last season when they had too many players and too few matches to use them in), and will only see their value decline further.

If we're unwilling to kick the can down the road to January/next summer then we're fucked if Levy won't accept the low bids on offer. That's a recipe for paralysis. Any properly-run football club would take the hit but this has been an ongoing problem for years with Levy and there's no sign of it changing.

So we get ITK that Levy is refusing to sell our outcasts for cut price fees and we can’t discuss it?
Exactly. May as well drop the premise of the discussion thread.
ITK literally post about levy and the moment anyone comments on it and it’s ‘take it to the relevant thread, guys’

Let’s just go to R/O and player threads

Want to sell players -> nobody offers the money you want so you keep them another year -> spend millions/tens of millions on wages of players you don't want -> can't buy players because you have too many players in the squad and less funds because you haven't sold -> player value decreases as contract runs down -> clubs offer less money for players you don't want because their value has decreased having a year less on their contract -> want to sell players but because clubs don't offer what you want you keep them another year -> definition of insanity

I would love to know how many tens of millions the club have lost over the years because of this

So let me get this straight….WLB gives us ITK about our owners in the ITK ‘discussion’ thread but we can’t discuss said information about said owner? Threads cross over from time to time! Shock!

It’s somehow come as a shock to you that Levy is a tight git? I don’t see what’s to discuss there… Lots of moaning and venting is not a discussion. If anyone has any intelligent points to make about it go ahead but no one gets anything from just complaining. Go do that in the Levy thread.

It's almost as if our owner has inserted himself into every area of the club and that's why every thread involved him. Just so odd isn't it.

AC Milan and Chelsea have both expressed significant interest in acquiring Gift Orban. While the terms with the player are agreeable, we're still deliberating on whether to proceed with the deal, given his popularity within the club's hierarchy — a likelihood that's heightened. Additionally, we're actively considering alternatives for the same position, particularly two other players whom we're very enthusiastic about for the forward role; however, it's worth noting that these alternatives might come with higher transfer fees compared to Orban.

Navigating player departures is proving to be a challenge, as there's substantial interest in our players. However, the transfer fees being offered are falling short of the club's expectations, particularly in cases where Daniel Levy is involved, or players themselves are not inclined towards a move.

Cheers mate, here we go again regarding the Outs. So much for being ruthless this time around in getting rid of unwanted players. If we need to sell before we can buy (due to an over inflated squad) this isnt good
