The net result of losing a couple of wickets was that we won this game an over or so later than we would have. Slightly nervy but In the end a comfortable win.

Now it’s probably India in the semi final and (I think) New Zealand v South Africa in the other. Two cracking games to look forward to on weds and thurs.

So………who’s going to win it?

In order of preference

England
New Zealand
South Africa
India

England obviously, New Zealand because I think the cricketing gods owe them one, South Africa because I admire the way they’ve built a really good team. India can be either brilliant or average but on their day have a great chance of winning it.

So overall, I honestly think any of the four teams can win it, this time it’s the right four, last time the better teams fucked it up.

Well, well, well........:D

The Dutch knock out South Africa, fantastic result for them, I thought they batted OK until halfway and then lost it a little but made an obviously defendable score. They bowled really well.

This means the winners of Pakistan v Bangladesh go through so i'm assuming to play New Zealand

India win against Zimbabwe will mean England v India semi-final; defeat would mean they face New Zealand and England play Pakistan

Zimbabwe aren't getting anywhere near that India total so I think we can safely say, India will be England's opponents in the Semi Final.

indeed. think it will be a real struggle v India, and we can't afford a poor start with the ball like we did yesterday. they also have the best opening bowling attack, and in SKY currently the best T20 batsman around.

big challenge!

sensational performance from Pakistan. they really are a joy to watch, always entertaining whichever way it goes.

clearly I want England to be in the final too, but imagine the atmosphere for a Pakistan/India final!

Wow, wasn’t expecting that but then if Pakistan turn up they’ll beat anyone and they seem to have found a bit of consistency over the last eighteen months.

Mark Wood is out of the semi final tomorrow against India and set to be replaced by Chris Jordan

I'm not too convinced by England's chances tomorrow if i'm being honest. The batting can be brilliant one minute and brittle the next and brittle happens too easily which makes us a bit like Pakistan, entirely unpredictable and like them, if we turn up, we can beat anybody. We need one of those days.
