These spectators in full on fancy dress who always turn up to a test match crack me up.
That's the great thing about this country - a lot of people don't take themselves too seriously, and it makes life more colourful.
Remember having some good banter with 3 foul mouthed intoxicated, pixies on a pre Christmas train back from a spurs game once!

Why do I get the feeling that this might be the reverse of the Aussie innings? Big stand at the start, then a rapid collapse to 250 all out!

Of course it shouldn't all be on his shoulders, but that is classic Root to be honest. Too often he makes a great looking 60-80 in a session, but doesn't go on to the type of score that puts the team in the driving seat.

Really. I mean Really?
Fuck me you don't know heat mate. :ROFLMAO:

Well the 24 degrees today will indeed increase sports fatigue over the average August UK daily max of 20 degrees. Which will be more fatiguing than the September avg max of 18. So yeah, heat.

Also, your bowlers are performing like they might have heatstroke.

At least we have dug in a bit today, and fought for our wickets - maybe the Ireland game was the kick in the backside we needed.

Pitch seems to be a slow burning turner so might be a problem batting on it from day 4

You are quite amusing. Hate to see you here in our summer. 40 degrees can take a bit out of you. 43 can really stuff you.
And yes 3 degrees can make a difference!

Its likely to effect your guys much more than us. 24 is an early spring day mate.

You are not wrong. I was up in Ayers Rock in December (46 degrees) and Perth in January (42 degrees) watching Australia vs India once - when that wind comes off the central desert its like putting your head in a furnace. We were really struggling with 38 here last week but the trouble is our houses are designed to store the heat. More and more people are looking at aircon here now which was unheard of when I was a kid.

Its all climate change buddy. As i said we are more than used to heat, but it wears you down.
And yes to get 38 there is ridiculous. When i was travelling in 94 i went to a family cricket day (the three of us were known as the "Australians" in the village just outside Nottingham) and it was about 28 in August. It was really considered a heatwave. We were enjoying it. They thought we were mad (well we were then. Lol)
I can see how Air con is being considered. I guess its the normal here.

Last week when it was really hot I read in the paper that in England an official heatwave is declared when the temperature exceeds 25 C for 3 consecutive days.

My first thought was to laugh, but then my second thought was someone ( or more likely a group of people) have actually had to have meetings and paperwork etc to decide and ratify this pointless declaration.

I think its worthy of laughter on 2 counts then.

Big fan of Jos Buttler but he isn’t a test match player. Not sure why they keep persistenting with him

Not quite sure how Australia are allowed to swap a ball that isn’t swinging for a ball that is swinging?

The ball change has completely brought them back into the game.

The breaks in test cricket, margins can be fine sometimes., could just have been as duff a ball as the one they were changing only it would have fit through the hoops etc.
