You may not get this - apologies - but I suspect that Mr @Barmy_in_Palmy is sitting alone somewhere playing "Seasons in the Sun" on a permanent loop ...
It’s 8am, I’ve had a few hours sleep, I’d like to get a few hours more. It’s a shame we didn’t win it would have been nice but oh well life goes on. To be honest I didn’t think we’d make the final so it was an impressive effort. Enjoy the victory. Finally somethings fucking coming home.

Actually so happy for Stokes. I'm so glad he was the hero today after the what happened in the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand were fantastic right through the World Cup. I know you came 4th in the group stage but I think you were 2nd to Australia in terms of performances. Your bowling attack was superb right throughout :).

The best team in the tournament and indeed the world over the last beat the better team on the day.

Absolutely fantastic for England, and what a day of sport.

Brilliant to have a day like this where football wasn't even part of the equation.

That rule is a joke

I would expect the team chasing to have more boundaries given they would be going for it...

There are certainly some rules in cricket that could be tightened up...

Agree. As much as I'm glad we won it does seem incredibly harsh on NZ. So we had equal run totals but they did it with wickets to spare so surely that is a better tiebreaker than how many boundaries you hit, which is a completely arbitrary statistic in comparison. It's like deciding who wins the football world cup based on how many corners each team had or something stupid.

Just skipped the last few pages, so will have to read back but after having shouted the neighbourhood down and drunk far too much beer...
What a game. Jesus! I was whatsapping my kids and their cricket team group like crazy.
That is possibly the most stressful, yet exciting game I've ever seen.
What a buzz!

I can’t even put into words what I witnessed today.
That will never happen again, I’ve got that summer of 2005 feeling back!

And I'm critiquing your poor "support".

Being an ex-pat Aussie I don't have skin in this game but having watched one of the great sporting spectacles it really pisses me off that you get to feel the happiness associated with what Joffrey Archer just achieved for you. You called him pathetic. And he made you look like a fucking gimp

Just apologise and move on, mate. And don't be so shit in future.
Just wear your chains and move along. (y)

I'd have clapped whatever the outcome. Magnificent, irresistible, call it what you will. What a match. And played with style.
NZ won it but didn't, not a moan , not a word of dissent. The perfect enemy.

More like how many shot on goal they have, if you ain’t going to give both teams the trophy then you have to find some way of separating them.

NZ should be applauded for their behaviour. When Boult caught Stokes on the boundary and Guptill indicated it was a six rather than claim the catch he showed why many respect this NZ team. If the Aussies truly want to live up to their 'elite honesty' slogan then they should follow the example Kane Williamson and his team set.
