Actually let myself believe we were going to do it.

In reality though it’s so rare though for something like Headingley to be repeated. Not least because you need a bit of luck to go with the skill and bravery.

We would’ve got there had Carey not resorted to garbage tactics.

"Australia’s management has requested the MCC investigates the incidents in the Long Room at lunch."

Poor Australia - must have been terrifying for them.

The footage seems to show Warner quite enjoying it. Unsurprisingly, the bloke is an utter pr1ck. Even his team-mates dislike him

I know it’s part of the game but I can’t still can’t watch short balls and blows to the head regardless of good helmets are now these days. Too many short balls from both teams this match

It’s a shame as you can see that the Baz Ball ethos will eventually work one day against the Aussies. The tail is far too long to start with and then the intensity for the bowlers is a lot to sustain.

In an ideal situation and injury free: Archer and Wood would match the Aussie fast bowlers.

I’m not too clued up with the youngsters that could come into this England team but they need the Anderson and Broad replacements to come in and why not give the young spinner Rehan Ahmed a go as well.

Haven't seen much of it but haven't both pitches been a bit dead and the ball not doing much? Seems logical to use the spinner to me instead of endless short stuff. I think Bazball will be very entertaining on better pitches (but I know next to nothing about cricket and normally fall asleep when it's on).

Think that’s probably the Ashes done now. I’d love to think England will take this and go and win the next 3 but that seems highly unlikely.

Valiant effort from 46 for 4, but just too many to chase. Incredible effort from Stokes.

Blown moments again costing England.

Stokes will fancy it! And if we take our chances no reason why we can't. We've had big chances to win both these matches and clearly should have won the first one at least. Tidy it up, a bit of luck, some more classic Stokes and you just never know.
