Couldn't agree more. They would all be very solid appointments and with all 3 of them their positives all significantly outweigh their negatives.

With Pochettino we have a man with a strong philosophy that is compatible with the values of THFC. He's got results in our league, has a good record with youth players, and most importantly is an excellent coach that shouldn't have issues implementing his attacking and direct approach to the game.

With Frank de Boer we have a man that would come here with significant success under his belt, European experience, knowledge of how a club needs to be structured behind the scenes, a long-term vision, and the ability to cope with expectation and rebuild sides.

With Benitez we have a man with a fantastic CV, a great reputation, a strong character that is not fazed by difficult circumstances and great knowledge of the Premier League.

As long as our new manager is one of these three candidates then i'm excited about the future of our beloved Spurs, because the lads will be in very good hands IMO.

Is there any chance we can get all 3?

I don't know if anyone has posted this but it was on a saints forum 930 this morning;
Quick update from a club source, No MP has not gone for an interview with Spurs, and both bids were rejected. That's all I can reveal at the moment, but I will say things are looking up.

Further to the media comments about Levy dropping interest in De Boer because he commited to cardinal sin of speaking to the press about or interest, I found this comment on saintsweb which sums up what a joke we are as a club if this is true:-

"Ridiculous that Tottenham's search for a manager is defined by whether they pipe up or not about an approach - especially when Spurs have been quite content to make those approaches while Sherwood was still in the job.

Forget all the other qualities that a manager might bring to a club, but focus on how good they are at keeping schtum. Levy has absolutely no idea what he wants to implement at WHL and just seems to like to swing his d1ck around in the transfer window a lot. If Poch is seduced by that then good riddance really, sadly he won't last much longer than a season"

It would be good if someone like jj can say if this was the reason we dropped our interest as, if it is, it would confirm to me that our process for appointing managers is a shambles and helps explain why Levy has made such a clusterf*ck of it so many times.

Who said we have dropped interest in DeBoer? We haven't appointed a manager yet so assume everyone is still up for consideration.

The thing is, we don't just need FDB. We need a whole new top team - FDB, Stam, Bergkamp and Overmars. Just replacing one element won't cure the problems.

I hope you're right but jj has pretty much said its already a done deal for Poch and he is 99% spot on with his info, just hope he is wrong this time.

FDB will bring a lot of entusiasm to us fans over the summer doubt that Pochettino will have the same impact

This isn't true though. We have a good (but slow) financial team, an extremely good salesman for our club in Baldini, a good head of Scouting in Broomfield and some extremely talented coaches in Freund and Ramsey. Also our academy is second to none. Yes, a new manager needs scope to bring some of his own people but we do not need to clear the decks like you are suggesting.

Clearing the decks is always dangerous but the two sharp upwards curves we have had have come from such changes - the whole Arnesen, Santini, Jol revoultion and Harry and his team. It seems that we periodically need major resets.

Baffling that a saints fan knows exactly what Levy wants. Poch wont be seduced by the crap he just wrote, he will be seduced with working for a bigger and far better club.

But what is the evidence that Levy knows what he wants? He seems to lurch from one type of manager to another without any clear strategy or long term vision which is why they all invariably fail and get sacked.

To be fair this is conjecture, looking back you could justify most of his decisions to make managerial change.

Hoddle - appointed in favour of Graham to appease the fans.

Hoddle dismissed because we were doing awfully, heading towards relegation.

Santini appointed with Jol as his successor, international quality manger with hot young manager learning from him.

Jol dismissed - we had started the season awfully, Jol has been making eyes at Newcastle and some players (Berbatov) were in open revolt against the manager. Also Ramos was available, a manager that had taken Sevilla to a title challenge and won the UEFA cup twice.

Ramos dismissed and Harry appointed, two points from eight games, fire fighter.

Harry - took his eye off the ball, presided over two end of season collapses, no longevity, a young and modern appointment needed to take the club forward, enter AVB.
