So we supposedly have the list:

Bruce
Pardew
Hughes
Giggs
Pulls
Black
Redknapp (duh, obviously)
Moyes

I saw that list as well. What i immediately thought was, if Redknapp is named and it can be proven, could this have repercussions due to his High Court trial?

If they have evidence of him taking bungs/bribes could he be done for perjury?

Giggs im kinda surprised at, and a bit confused, He was only a asst manager, and not for that long. How much sway would he have in bringing in players?

I'm fairly certain that that list is a wind up because it was going around earlier without Black's name on.

Depends if he had any say on United's transfer committees, for example. He could have been twisting Van Gaal's arm to opt for his preferred player or agent of the player in question.

Not directly linked to Giggs but the Di Maria deal was pretty bizarre. A huge sum for a quality player to which United pretty much abandoned immediately.

To be fair, Black isnt a manager or really a big name. Giggs was United's chosen one until they panicked in the summer and was interim manager before LVG.

That was kinda what i was getting at. I didn't think as an asst mgr he would have that much sway over signings. However, on second thoughts, he was kept on as number 2 to Van Gaal due to his long standing in the British game and knowing its inner workings. His voice would be a "trusted one" if he was on the transfer committee.

So it is quite conceivable he coulda steered Van Gaal in certain directions.

And we know the guy has no morals as he shagged his brother's wife!

I think I've figured out what the point of this apparently pointless follow-up is. It's to show that Scott McGarvey is actually in on it, or the biggest idiot around.

The agent Scott McGarvey is the person who set up the meetings for Allardyce and Black. Allardyce's first meeting is August 19th. Black is September 2nd, and then Allardyce's second meeting was last week.

Even though McGarvey's solicitor claims that ""Mr McGarvey had merely helped arrange meetings in good faith to further what he believed to be a legitimate business venture," today's story quotes him as saying:

“I’ll be dead honest with you,” said Mr McGarvey. “I’ve done it before, the youth team manager doesn’t earn a lot of money, 60, 70 grand, maybe 40 grand at [named club], and I go, 'by the way, here’s two grand. I’ll give you two grand every ----ing month, but I need you to get me the best young players in the country.’ ”

and then

“We had this little plan,” said Mr McGarvey. “We’ll give some managers a few quid. There’s a lot of managers who I’m saying don’t take anything. Because for 100 grand or 50 grand in readies, they get caught, they’re three million, four million pound a year, they could lose their job and lose everything over a 50 grand bung. What we’ve got going on, so somebody like [a named manager] will do public speaking … I can’t give anyone a chance to go back to the chief executive and say, 'he offered me a bung,’ because you’d be out of the game. Who’s going to say that?

“So I’m going to say … come out, we’ll give you a hundred grand. We’d want you to do a little motivational speech. They’ve got an investment kind of deal so you can send it to wherever you want.

So AFTER this, McGarvey has a second meeting with Allardyce, who perfectly fits his description above of having too much to lose to do business without a cover story. If he follows his own advice, he won't mention paying people to help secure business. If he's smart, he won't mention paying people to help secure business. All he has to do is get through the meal without mentioning paying people to help secure business. What happens?

Mr McGarvey later turned to the subject of paying people to help secure business, to the deep discomfort of the England boss.

Allardyce put a napkin over his head and said: “Oh, oh, you’re not, do not, I haven’t heard that. I haven’t heard that, you stupid man. What are you talking about? You idiot. You can have that conversation when I’m not here.”

Idiot or inside man?

Black does seem to get a lot of coaching jobs and changes clubs pretty regularly. I always thought it weird he was so regularly employed but thought it was to do with him being rubbish rather than dodgy. Maybe not?

Yes and no.
It's not come from a combination of tweets from randoms etc. but it did come from a specific account linking to an article that has since been deleted.
I'll file that with @Agent_1101's ITK from the summer then ;)
Let's face it, unless it comes from the telegraph it's just people guessing no?

Is ti taking a 'bung' or just being asked to speak at conferences and getting paid for it?

It seems that the discussions after that actual piece is more the issue, the free flow chat, rather than actually being paid to be a key note speaker - not sure I see anything wrong with that aspect per sae.

Surely the ex-player one is Hasslebaink? That list looks like a load of nonsense to me.
