I am setting myself up for some stick here...
No Defoe I hear you say? Yes you are seeing straight, I just think with 3 games in a week the squad needs to be utilised and this starts by keeping Defoe fresh for the West Ham game 2 days later. This is the same reason I would like to give Charlie a rest and Hutton a run out and JJ coming in for the Hudd. I'm averse to wholesale changes in resting players and only want 1 position changed in each defence/midfield/attack.
Risky? Of course it is, but we need to utilise the squad we have to survive the season and I think this is the perfect time to give Keano his chance. He enjoys playing off a target man and with a Harry rocket up his backside a little faith shown in him could go a long way. He's always been a good away game player and without playing in front of a WHL crowd that is losing patience with him and a more forgiving away crowd it might just click again for him. His encouraging substitute performance against Blackburn may suggest he's been told a few home truths by Redknapp after the party shenanigans too.
Go for it, and If you're going to insult my selection of Keane over Defoe, make it creative
