Need to start Jan at LB with Rose out. I don't want to see KWP anywhere near the first xi for a game like this.

With the team news I'm going

LLoris
Trippier Alder Sanchez Vert
Dier
Sissoko Winks
Eriksen Son Moura

Happy for Vert/Sanchez as I think both deserve to start this game, playing well recently and felt harsh dropping Sanchez, think he's had a difficult season but last 3 games been very good. Hope he can continue you vs much stiffer competition.

With the regards to the great RB debate. I saw some stats recently which basically showed Trippier as our strongest outlet attacking wise and also I've felt Sissoko has been excellent defensively for us, the amount of times he covers back that rb spot. I've seen a lot of people in the past complain that Sissoko goes wondering in midfield and yet he was getting picked every week which made me feel that people were pidgeon holing sissoko into their simplistic view of where a midfielder should be and maybe Poch had his positioning be by design.

Anyway I'll try and arrive at the point quickly as I'm boring myself, I think that by design Trippier is pushing significantly higher up with Sissoko dropping into that space and Eriksen had been dropping deeper to take pull the strings where you'd expect Sissoko to be. I'm not a big fan of trippier but I do think Poch is still picking him for a reason and it's that outlet and getting Sissoko to cover the deficiencies. I'd be interested to see our players average positions. I also think that's why we played Skipp in the diamond so that Eriksen could push up where he's more dangerous and that's why I'm picking Dier in the hole so Eriksen can continue that with Son and Moura up top. However I'd also love to seeing Llorente with Son and Moura either side but in games like this it's important to have a good outlet on the bench.

Not at left back anyway. I’d be open to him starting on the right, he will probably know Sancho’s game better than Trippier or Aurier because of international youth squads, but really I think our best bet is to just dominate the ball and starve Sancho of possession.

Sancho is that good is he? I don't watch German football and wasn't sure if people were raving about him for being English and a bit quick.

Sancho plays as a RM.

I've got a suspicion that Rose will play and due to their weakened back line AND front line, I see Poch going out aggressive.

Lloris

Aurier
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
Rose KWP

Sissoko
Winks

Lucas
Lamela
Eriksen

Son

Edited, as Lexington said Rose is out.

Honestly, if you aren’t actually Trippier, your constant defending of him is actually quite strange at this point. He’s had a terrible, terrible season.

Maybe he has not had a good season and has not recovered his form from last year. But not as bad as you say. Aurier is no replacement and obviously KWP considers that he is not ready for 1st call. I guess i will have to take Poch's view....and so will you:)

Ah I didn't hear that part, just heard he was going to be evaluated tomorrow.
This is what he said:

Will Danny Rose be available?

For tomorrow it will be impossible for him to start from the beginning. We need to assess him to see if he can be on the bench. Tomorrow morning, we are going to assess if he can help the team by being on the bench if we need him. But on the starting XI, he is not available.

he also used this as an example to get a little dig in at the FA - saying Rose might have been ready if we had 24 hours more between matches.

Ah, well then.

I'd rather give KWP the start out wide than Jan, in that case.

How come? KWP has made 2 errors recently both when he's been on the left side of the pitch where as Jan looked great vs Newcastle.

This is one of the times we do agree on something, Paolo...

Trippier seems to be highly rated pretty much everywhere except here. Just like how Walker went from a liability here to best RB in the league at Man city with virtually no change.
The grass is always greener and all that....

No match thread that I can see yet so no where else to post this but Dortmund are without reus, piszchek, alcacer and weigl.

It's all hands on deck time, so I think we'll line up like this:

Lloris (altho I'd prefer Gazza)
Aurier Sanchez Toby Vert
Sissoko Winks
Son Eriksen Moura
Llorente

Think you should check out what Man City fans think of Walker. Although he was rated the best rb in the league in his final 2 seasons with us.

Sancho plays as a RM.
I have seen Dortmund play a good bit this season and he has spent more time on the left when I have been watching than on the right. They do seem to switch a few times throughout the match though.
