Gomes ?

What's the logic BC ? Haven't heard too many complaints about Freidel.

I'd go with:

Friedel
Walker - Gallas - Kaboul - Rose
Sandro - Parker
Lennon - VDV - Bale
Adebayor

Modric just hasn't been doing it and Lennon has looked lively, would also push VDV more central rather than towards the right.
I agree except I think we should use Livermore instead of Parker for the same reason you are excluding Modric. We should be able to win the midfield battle against Blackburn with Livermore, Sandro, and VDV plus extra height in the box on set pieces. Sandro and Livermore looked good together as a partnership against Man U, and that way we can play against Blackburn's strengths and save Modric/Parker's energy for the game we have in midweek or next weekend. That's called rotation Harry.

No doubt what I expect to see is both Modric and Parker start 3 games in 7 days, and perform well below par in each game. It doesn't even make tactical sense to start them against Blackburn or Bolton really given the height difference but Harry? Tactics? You're 'avin a laugh!

That is especially true if Kaboul doesn't manage to start, it is even more pivotal that we get taller players in to defend set pieces and win aerial battles. Not going to hold my breath for the correct decisions to be made finally.

I am afraid harry will say we need the win and go for his favorite formation of Defoe, another striker, lennon, bale and two CMs. In other words the suicide squad.
I know some will say it worked before blah blah...
By now every manager in England knows how to deal with us playing that formation. Congest midfield, force Spurs to lose possession, long diagonal ball to target man or men, run at their stretch retreating defence, their keeper stays on his line, take a shot at goal.

BAE is out for the season, no?

Yep out for the season with shoulder injury i think.

---------------Friedle
Walker-Kaboul-King/Gallas-Rose
Lennon--Parker--Modric-Bale
--------VDV
------------------Ade

We need Ade to stay up top, if he goes wide or wanders we put no preasure on there CBs! To be fair we need to let all 3 strikers go in the summer (VDV isnt a striker so he should be kept) and buy in 2 quality strikers who can score more regualy with VDV

Head-to-head
  • Tottenham have won their last five matches against Blackburn and are going for their third double in a row over Rovers.
  • Blackburn have only one two out of the last 16 matches between the sides.
  • Rovers have only won on one of their last eight visits to White Hart Lane.

This should continue no matter what the Spurs lineup is today... COYFS!!! ;)

Any system within reason can work if the players know what they are doing and it is coached properly and the personnel play with confidence and belief.

It is however helpful to be able to adapt/change the system mid game or before a game.

442 isn't necessarily a bad formation imo.

If we start with a high tempo, we should be fine. As always, but especially atm, first goal will be extremely important
