New manager bounce is a myth isn't it?
Just think its exaggerated a lot of the time...
New manager bounce is a myth isn't it?
I think my reasons for doing so are perfectly valid in context. You put Trippier in despite the fact that Walker has clearly been the better player.
Leaving Eriksen out of the team after his last performance is criminal. He is our best player and he should be starting.
Think these calls for Vetonghen in central midfield are madness.
You're splitting up the defence that has served us so well this season. Doesn't really make senseI think my reasons for doing so are perfectly valid in context.
It does when you actually read the reason why I've done it. Which I've posted twice in this thread. It's like I've put verts in attack for all the hysteria about it. Jesus. You're splitting up the defensive that has served us so well this season. Doesn't really make sense
Really don't think Vertonghen has anywhere near the ability to be able to play the Dier role.
It's the mobility as much as his physicality I think. Just don't think that Vertonghen brings that.Reads the game well and has good distribution, maybe he's not as physical as Dier though.
It's a good, attacking team with a solid spine, pace, and threat in it for a home game against that lot.
I've laid out my reasoning in this thread; so those who find it 'tickling' should be super eager to pick it to pieces. No?
Still waiting....
Plus, no reason to break up our best CB partnership. Better to keep, Toby-Jan, and play a new CM, than have a new CM and a new CB pairing. It's the mobility as much as his physicality I think. Just don't think that Vertonghen brings that.
Think these calls for Vetonghen in central midfield are madness.
Not everyone, no.From my pov it was a fleeting thought around keeping that solid defence considering the injuries we have BUT didn't everyone say the same about dier during preseason.
ahem...I would not say "none of us"....some of us recognized his potential in pre-season...(admittedly the rest of you lot gave me a slew of negative ratings for suggesting it might work out.... )None of us wanted Dier in CDM at the start of the season and now he's out we're trying to find ways to put our other CB's in the CDM role. You crazy kids.
With that said, i do understand the thought process but I think that we have to look to stick to the CM's we have and just be disciplined. We can out-muscle their midfield considering that they don't have Henderson in there and instead it's the likes of Joe Allen and Coutinho.
Back 4 picks itself but would certainly start Rose at LB.
Attacking 4 picks itself in respect of Kane, Lamela, Eriksen. Son adds to that if fit.
CM is the trick. If they can both get back then I'd be tempted to start Mason and Nabil together. However, I dont see Poch dropping Alli anytime soon and nor should he really. I think he may lean towards pairing him with Nabil to be the CDM between them.
Not everyone, no.
It's also quite a different situation. Dier was identified in pre season as playing there, they then played him in that position all pre-season, and thus I would guess in training.
This would be dropping someone in who hasn't played there for us at all, with minimal preparation for the role.
LlorisAll injury permitting of course. If Son is injured then put in Chadli, Townsend on the bench. If Bentaleb and Mason are injured then put in Rose and Carroll. Under no circumstances allow Fazio anywhere near the squad. Simples!
