I'd play Sissoko with Wanyama. Sissoko can play the midfield role pusing forward. He's strong, maybe unpredictable but a better bet for a game like this than Onomah

Lloris

Walker Dier Toby Jan Davis

Wanyamna Sissoko

Dele Eriksen

Kane

and we switched to a 4-2-3-1 after about 20 minutes on Wednesday.
That's because Dembele was struggling with his ankle. We would have continued with 3 otherwise.

Dier has to play in midfield against arse if dembele is doubtful - if Eriksen plays deeper, they'll target him and muscle him off the ball. Same with Onomah.
A midfield of Wanyama and Dier is not that inspiring and an arsenal that sat back would not have much to worry about. But wenger is too arrogant and they will come to attack to try to redeem themselves.

If it all goes wrong we can bring dembele off the bench to gouge someone's eyes out. Have some of that.

I think we should go with the shape we had in our last two 4-0 home matches. I still don't like us going with 3 at the back when we don't have a left wing back . It's a big blow if Dembele misses this match but in my opinion we should stick with 4-2-3-1 with Dembele and Wanyama or Dier and Dembele. That way Son gets to play in the position where he has been doing so well and Davies is not asked to play where he can't deliver. The other suggestions put forward of playing Sissoko from the start or playing Eriksen next to Wanyama or bringing in Onomah disrupt our team pattern. I'm not crazy about Dier and Wanyama together but it is the best option if Dembele is out. Kane, Dele, Eriksen and Son have been scoring for fun and the 4-2-3-1 keeps them in advanced positions where they can hurt the Goons.
If it ain't broke don't change it. Unless of course the official team news is a bluff and Rose makes his comeback !

It's a very old Scum tactic to 'leak' a story about one of their star men being out throughout the run up to a big game only to wheel him out on the day. They used to do that with Fabregas & Nasri before every NLD!

Hopefully we are also playing mind games by faking the news that Rose is not ready and Dembele 50-50.

I don't think some on with the first touch of a trampoline is right for CM in this game.

Disagree regarding Wanyama and Dier being uninspiring.
Surely thats left to Son, Eriksen,Kane and Alli.
They just need to protect back 4.

Lloris
Walker Toby Verts Davies
Dier/Dembele (if fit) Wanyama
Eriksen Alli Son
Kane
Now go rip them a new one boys.
Going to be tough game I think. People thinking Arsenal have no chance are kidding themselves imo.
They'll be hurting and well up for this game. Last game at whl and we're in title run. They'd love to throw a spanner in the works.
And if Walcott Ozil Ox Sanchez or Giroud all turn up and turn it on we're going to have to be on our A game to win this.
I think we will. Expose their defence and keep tight at back and we'll win.

But we all know Dembele at 50% really isn't great. If he's not at it, he can be a liability as we saw last game, against Palace he was ambling round getting caught on the ball. At it 100%, and with Winks out, I'd definitely have him starting this one. Not so keen on a 50% Dembele though.

I notice Wenger has blinked and gone a 3cb system. I think if we aren't very careful we could come tactically unstuck.

Lloris

Dier--------------TA---------------JV

Trippier------Wanyama-------Dembele/Onomah--------------Davies

Eriksen------------------------------
------------------------Alli

Kane

And before everyone gets all incandescent at me for daring to suggest Onomah, I genuinely would rather have him there and keep the 3421, than chuck all our AM's on from the start, go 4231 and have Wanyama and Dier plodding about against a very lively Arsenal for whom this will be a cup final.

Remember the last time we had a 19yo Bentaleb and Mason in midfield against (a better Arsenal) them and played them off the park.

If Dembele isn't 100% I fully expect Poch to go 4231 with the axis of trundle in CM though.

Barking!

Here's a scenario for you;

The pilot's had a heart attack and the plane's crashing!

It's OK, there's a passenger on board who used to be a commercial pilot.

B.C. Well, I think we should hand the controls over to this 14 year old kid who says he's good on X Box.

Isn't that the position he played so well for France in the WC and the reason why we ended up paying 30m for him? I agree we should have played him more there this season, not sure the NLD is the place to do it. Arse will up for this. It is a must win game for them if they have any chance of CL football next year. If they don't this is the nail in venger boys coffin so he will go all out. Play solid back four with Dier partnership with Victor.

This. Not sure I like the idea of Sanchez isolating Dier in a back three.

Dier has been moved to the middle and Toby to the right recently so I think Toby will be the one dealing with Sanchez.

Dier won't get isolated if Walker is playing. And in build up play, they'll concentrate on our left, where we're weakest. I'm more concerned about Giroud attacking the far post when every man and his dog beats Davies and gets a cross in. Walker isn't great defending that kind of move, so Dier as the extra CB is essential.
