Young, inexpensive and chance for the club to develop another Asian superstar to tap that market. The new DOF must know the way to Levy’s heart.

Suspect this one has legs due to the relatively low cost and the marketing potential. I know very little about him, but hope he's being brought in as a centre back because I think we need at least one or two new homegrown players in and RWB feels like probably the best place to shop for English talent (Aarons probably most likely although we're almost exclusively being linked to overseas talent at the moment).

Never knowingly seen the lad play, but with 60 Serie A starts and 20+ full international appearances at the age of 22 he has a fair bit of experience for a CB already.

Sounds like he would be a fantastic signing.

I think he made his debut for Japan in 2018 yet was named in the Asian team of the decade (2010-20) alongside Sonny.

Hopefully this gets wrapped up in the next few days then. Do we think Sanchez is out the door this summer?

15m euros no? That’s pretty low for an established international CB who can also play at RB. Similar fee to what we paid for Rodon.

As I have mentioned, it is pretty close.

The guy can also play LCB if needed and did so on a few occasions last season.

Good addition I feel.

A good start on the transfer front. Shame he’s away at the olympics so really isn’t going to be able to get used to the league until towards Christmas time. Apparently Nuno is a bit like Poch in that he likes new signings to bed in, rather than throwing them in.

I really love this kind of signing, moving away from it ties in with our decline. Under Pochettino there were a couple of duds and as a result it seems we gave up on uncovering young talent before they peaked. So many of my favourite players for us have been guys that I’d seen little or none of.

Edit: just watched this video, this guy has cult hero written all over him…

What I really like about him is he very rarely does sliding tackles, he’s all about positioning and strength. Will hardly give any fouls away.

Takehiro!
Gonna need Takehiro til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong and he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be up for the fight.

Well there ya go, the manager search has finally broke me and I’ve ended up putting a players name to a song. This is what happens in the depth of depravity.
